And shortens the tail as well Because in Indian pitches spinners like Jadeja, Ashwin, Axar, Sundar can provide you the necessary batting depth. Assuming Pandya is ur third seamer, so you see need for Shardul ? If WC happens in SENA countries then Thakur has a role to play at no 8. He will be in squad and might play some matches here and there. But Shami, Siraj and Bumrah are going to be your main quick bowlers. Link to comment

rkt.india
Siraj, Bumrah are two certainties.not sold on Shami. Too old. Can't bowl at death. He is at best a four over bowler at age of 37. Edited June 13, 2023 by rkt.india Vijy 1 Link to comment

vvvslaxman
Bumrah after injury - We have to wait and watch how he comes bacak. He may not be the same. Even at peak he hardly played many ODIs. At this point India needs someone like Rashid Khan in the middle overs. I am scared Chahal may come back. AKane 1 Link to comment

Bumnrah is a hard worker, will do well and come back though not much time left for him to get his mojo back. he is now in his peak age as a fast bowler, 27-32. He doesn't have injury free action like Pat cummins. So he can't bowl long spells without hurting himself. Link to comment
BlueBlood
Bumrah is done and without him and Pant there's no hope for India in WC. They have no choice but to go back to Mohit Sharma, Bhuvi and Chahar type of trundlers to strengthen the batting as Bumrah is irreplaceable. If they could have really given Umran Malik and other such fast bowlers enough matches we would have had a good team Link to comment

He went back to his original action which he had in his u19 years. He had tweaked it a bit when he was with RR. Need4Speed 1 Link to comment

No bowler had more injuries than James Anderson and look at him, still going at 40. Bumrah is just 29. Link to comment

Bumrah doesn't have action like James Anderson nor does he bowl in tailer made pitches half of the year. He was used on dust bowls of Dubai, India and Asia and destroyed playing all games in all formats. He is not coming back unless he changes his action which will remove his novelty. The sick treatment of Bumrah is the biggest reason for downfall of Indian Cricket. He is one of the biggest reasons for our success and yet treated like garbage while Kohli, Rohit, Pujara, Rahane, Jadeja were protected as they are batsmen. Same will happen with Shubman Gill - he will be protected while bowlers who are coming up like Tyagi, Prasidh, Umran, Mohsin will be discarded once they fail in doctored spin friendly and batting friendly pitches in India. When they take Bhuvi and Chahar to Perth leaving Umran, Prasidh, Mohsin etc. behind - it tells us everything we need to know. Sandz and Vijy 2 Link to comment
