that was from the rough not from the wicket.  Ashwin has never used to rough in his cricketing career. Ashwin needs turn from the wicket to be effective.  He is a wicket to wicket bowler. Lyon uses bounce from the rough very well.

Ali vs other teams in England is downright mediocre. Ali owned Kohli even on a flat pitch in India. His record in India is poor though.  You back your best bowler all the time not dropping 6 tests in a row.

Yours is more hope than confidence. Ashwin rightly was dropped.He could not get rookie Sam Curran out but he will get Steve Smith and Head,

INdia rightly lost. Lost the 5th test as well.  So yea.. let us persist with foolish theory. We will continue getting our ass kicked.  Ashwin was not needed WTC 2021 final. I agree. But he was the best bowler in that match. Ashwin was needed in WTC 2022 final. He was not picked.

Ashwin playing and not playing did not make any difference in end result in both matches.

Check the pwnage by NZ against India. The trios went missing in both innings. Even amnog pacers only Ishant was effective.

Bottomline is Indian batsmen get way too much longer rope not just money compared to bowlers. They collectively went missing at Mirpur. If INdia had lost the test , it was kiss good bye for the final.

I agree it is my opinion only.It is very unfortunate that Ashwin missed out but Indian team balance is so screwed up.
