He used to hold his bat rigidly. Stokes advice to all his players to hold the bat in a relaxed manner. Loose grip. Twirling the bat from time to time apparently helps it seems. Jo Root does it. As per Nasser Root picked up this twirling habit from Kane williamson. Also when you are about to reecive the ball keep the hands relaxed with loose grip. Probably someone like Gill can learn from it.
Bigg Brother Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Overrate has been abysmal throughout the series.
putrevus Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 I put blame on Aussie batting more than I put blame of their bowling. They batted whole day and scored so few runs. If they had taken lead of 100 plus runs this match would have been different.

Smith throwing his wicket away with a nothing shot was the turning point
Serpico Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Australia top 6 averages in fourth innings Warner - 41 Khawaja - 30 Marnus - 30 Smith - 28 Marsh - 16 Head - 43 Only rain can stop England here putrevus 1

Khawaja was set he threw his wicket away.So did Smith. They needed a big 100 from one of them.
putrevus Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 (edited) This guy Root is just so good, I think he willend up with most 100s by an English batsman too. I jinxed him. Edited July 29, 2023 by putrevus
vvvslaxman Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 That is another heart breaker for Root back to back. Ball literally rolled after turning under the bat.
