putrevus Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 How the hell can that bounce over the wickets. Wilson was right in his call.

His spin didn't make any impact on India tours, was played easily. 1/4 of his innings are in top 5. 3000 runs after 118 innings despite that is not good. Why you keep harping Indian tour, he did not do well in India so what, it does not make him into bad player. He has always been shuffled up and own. He has been ultimate team man.3000 runs in not much different from what Jadeja has scored in 67 tests. He is far better batsman than Jadeja. Lord 1
R!TTER Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Only 1 team has chased over 300 runs against Eng in Eng in the last 30+ years! Oz isn't doing this, their best hope is a draw.

Kothili Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Raining out again is realistically Aus' only chance.

Jadeja has 98 innings all but 3-4 in top 5. Moeen 118 with 25% in top 5. What has Moeen done as bat even outside Eng?He failed in Aus too, again say so what, same for NZ,SL,even WI. So many 'so what's Jadeja has atleast done well in Aus,scored ton from 90-5 in England along with 2 50s. Moeen is noway near. Being 'team man' doesn't make anyone better bat. He's been shuffled precisely because he couldn't nail a spot. cricspirit and Vijy 2

The thing for them is pitch is still good to bat.

The biggest thing in test match is nerves, also part of the reason why test cricket has such a massive (inherent) advantage for the home side! India hasn't lost with opposition scoring over 200 in the fourth innings since 87 by Windies, pretty much everything needs to fall in place for you to win.
putrevus Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Broad is retiring after this test. Very good bowler for England, he has won many matches for them with his spells where he is almost unplayable.

This pitch is still very battable. Still a tough score but Aus not completely out of it. Eng chased 380 easily last year v us. So possible.
R!TTER Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 They only won because they chased it down quickly, also the Virahi drop, as the longer you stay there more chances of losing wickets! Oz won't get within 50 runs of this target. Lord and putrevus 2
