Ajinkya Rahane's story fuels Hanuma Vihari's quest for India comeback. Vihari is not sure why he suddenly found himself out of the Test side, but feels he has the time and the skills to make another impression - and not just in red-ball cricket

Admire the determination to keep going, but please no.

Dhawan may also make comeback for the Asia cup

Average Speeds for South Zone new ball bowlers

Kaverrapa  126 kph
V Koushik   124 kph

Is asking for 135 kph too much for all these domestic new ball bowlers?

:facepalm:I thought he will be atleast 133-135.

Sarfaraz gone for duck..last few matches he is really struggling to score runs.

Is it due to the rubbing by Mark Wood in the IPL.

I have not seen any dismissals of WZ innings. But SZ dismissals i did see.  Occasional misbehavior from the surface.Very unthreatening bowling. But somehow SZ managed to collapse. Since Kaverappa is taking a lot of wickets he will be in the radar.

Whatever little I have seen, Vihari looks to me as a captain with a plan.

He used Vyshak to bowl the bouncer barrage from round the wicket..and Shaw succumb to it. Ofcourse it's a pace favourable condition.

He captained Umran and Sen very well in the Irani Trophy...giving short spells to Umran asking him to go flat out. He used Mukesh Kumar specifically with the new ball who used the new ball to full advantage.

People underestimate the importance of captain when it comes to fast bowling.

Rohit Sharma is prime example of a captain who has no clue how to handle fast bowlers.

Kaverappa is getting movement and bounce...the wicket to Shaw was an indipper while he got SKY on a ball which bounced more than expected.

As I said..if he can up his pace by 8-10 kph..he will be an asset. He has the skills.

It's true, a good captain is a must for a quick fast bowler.

Kane handled Umran very well last season, this season he was all at sea under Markram.

I wish we can get Ashwin/Bumrah as captain in Tests for some time. One can captain in Asia...other can do overseas. ..our batters don't understand fast bowling a bit.

He is tall but he look likes he is a floater. Most of his deliveries are at good length which is good.

Question remains if his run up can become more streamlined and he improves his fitness to get power both in legs and upper body will he gain that extra 10 KPH speed.

I think its the end of the road for Sarfaraz.

He will be another Panchal or Easwarsan and will rot in domestic cricket for ever.

Jaiswal & Gaikwad is already ahead of him and KL & Iyer will be back too.

Keverappa is tall but he is very slow.Unless he adds another 10kph speed, he won't be a factor.

I watched few of his overs. He never touched 130kph once.

He got 4 wickets though including Pujara , Sky and Sarfaraz. So there must be some skills.
Hope he can add a yard of pace. Intelligent bowlers with good pace are very rare.

Yes, I also saw that passage of play. Vihari specifically put a bodyline field and asked Vyshak to bang in over a spot. It was a good watch.

Umesh but for his reversing skills would have had an atrocious career. Are they using SG ball in domestic?
