Thats okay, Jaiswal will eventually reach to the captaincy race. His performance itself will speak for him, given Gill struggles in 2/3 formats.

 

Riyan has been with RR from like 5-6 years, he is their next young guy to bank on just like they backed Sanju since 2012.

Probably he will play as impact player till he recovers fully from finger injury. Once recovered he will take on the keeper role.

Likes of Jaiswal and Rinku Singh suffer from not being part of the "right" group. They should both be stars but are continually dragged down. Likes of Gill and others have the backing of the people that matter, but these two fail to get the same level of support or recognition.

Honestly, this whole captaincy thing is over-rated. Some people relish it, others don't. Some may even hate it. 

 

It shouldn't be considered some kind of honor/prestige to be a captain. I just don't see why the great players should always be given captaincy. Let Jaiswal become the GOAT batsman without the trappings of captaincy.

Riyan Parag has lost the track and is now out of reckoning even for A team.

 

A batsman who can bowl offspin should have been preferred over Sundar in odi and T20.

Hm I don't think so. He had surgery in his shoulder. Been managing this injury for a while so I hope this does him good. He aggravated it in the IPL so had to leave the squad for Gaekwad. I dare say the 11 would have been better balanced for him being in it.

First he was carrying the hamstring injury till the IPL and when he had to miss the India A series due to it.he made use of time and got his shoulder surgery done which was due from long and restricting his shot making due to pain
