In india a single man is ineligible to adopt a girl child . So where is equality. The life of a child adopted by homosexual couple is going to be hell . He she will be teased and in many case isolated as normal parents may ask their children to stay away from him /her as .Indian society still don't have unwed single mothers a phenomina which is very common in west from 70-80 years. Stop imposing western ideas on conservative indian society.

Indeed...  Indian kids are already so frustrated these days.  Intense competition,  unemployment...  Recent spike in suicide cases in Kota.  Why bite more than you can chew?

Those First world problems are not meant for our people & rightly so.

Equality does not mean that you start expermenting on kids. As I earlier said a single male is also ineligible to adopt a girl child so where is equality in adoption in first place.

Marginalize the folks who others look down upon. Nice.

To all calling this a regressive step, listen to the arguments against the marriage, it has repercussions to the way marriages are defined and used in property laws, succession etc. Consenting adults can fcuk around all they want legally now, but so many laws need to be amended to give them same rights for marriage and adoption. Also, the west is more prepared with domestic partnerships clauses even without marriage between opposite sex (live-in) . The volume of people affected by this refusal is minuscule in India to make it a national outrage. Let’s get all rapists indicted first. There are more worrying aspects of our society.

What a post wow..

chaddi school Of thought :

Nooo sir.. its beckaas of property and sucession sir. Too many laws to amend volume of people impacted is low sir ... what about rape cases sir..

Wtf has all that got to do with sc not legalising same sex marriages ? Its idiotic and regressive also disgusting. Check the company you keep India , when you have only fundamental societies to keep company there is something wrong with you by association.

Courts don’t pass laws or legalize anything in India. It is the parliament that does pass laws , to your uninitiated cranium. As per current laws, SC didn’t think it can allow the new provisions, so SC has asked the centre to form a committee to look into passing a law. Of course, none of the parties think it is high priority and not think it is priority to deal with first world problems.

There is a larger issue. Can you bring same sex marriage before common civil code ? I think if law permits same sex marriage then we should forget common civil code for a atleast a decade.
