Haha... Afg idiot captain gave away the advantage. Always bat first. Pressure of chase even if it's 240 is huge against quality spin. Typical minnow brainfade

Yes , chasing will be an advantage here but New Zealand are a thoroughly professional bowling and fielding unit. There was pretty much no dew here too in the last two games.

NZ usually don't give even an inch to any minnows in World Cups, so will interesting to see how well they do here or can Afghanistan spring another surprise ?

It seems Afghans trust their own bowling more than batting.  Anyway, hoping for a good contest.

But it's true Minnows/Weaker sides have a better chance of winning by batting first and scoring 220-250 rather than chasing the same target.

Why they choose to bowl first, they cant even chase 160 as they dont have batters. They should have bated first.

I think Afghans believe in the theory that ball will grip and spin more under natural sun light.   Nothing wrong though.  They hv the bowlers for this type of pitch.

Also they should hve played Noor in place of one of fast bowlers as their  fast bowling is ****.

Even if NZ get bowled out for 160, would still fully back them to defend the target. 

 

Even in the Pakistan Ireland upset, Pakistan team almost defended whatever little target they had set up.

Boult will get Gurbaz first over and this toss decision will look ridiculous. Toyger new ball bowlers got plenty of assistance in their game against NZ in first 10 overs. NZ will at least match that bowling effort (90% chance they will do much better) and even that will be too much for Afghans. And Chennai will be blazing hot and humid in the afternoon.

Whatever total, you can safely add 30 runs just because of NZ fielding.

Ind beat Aus and Nz beat Ban.   Both while chasing here at chennai.  I think this might also hv played a role in Afghan's decision to chase.
