Suhaan
We can lay fast bouncy pitches up North, even Mumbai has true bounce, fine While we will have more equipped pace bowlers ready by the time we go to important tours and ICC events and we will have good dry pitches in South to get our batsmen ready to be able to negate quality spin This helps us to cover all the bases Spinners getting purchase from Northern wickets can be deemed prospect too Just see Coetzee. And others doing so well for SA who are Tyagis age If only we had condition supporting these guys ,these kids like Tyagi Umran Harshit,Mayank,Sen would have done spectacularly Really don't want these guys to go down the drain, time is precious BCCI needs to look into this They have the resources to make it happen @express bowling @Mosher @MediumPacer @singhvivek141 @Need4Speedr @rollingstoned Edited October 22, 2023 by Suhaan MK55, singhvivek141, Vijy and 3 others 6 Link to comment

Like on a broader level...give hard & bouncy pitches in North, flat patta in West & Central...Green mamba in East and Spin friendly in South (ofcourse it's on a high level and can vary depending on other factors like sea level elevation, climate etc). Our players should adapt for all conditions & pitches...what's the use of such big land mass if we can't recreate the situations across the world. I would even encourage BCCI to use all types of balls SG, Dukes, Kookaburra if possible on all these grounds so that our batters/bowlers can learn how to utilise them properly. Link to comment
MediumPacer
Quick pitches are harder to develop whereas any poorly kept pitch will become a dusty turner. Link to comment
MediumPacer
I liked the pitch they had in Chennai during the nz ban match, but the pitch for nz and Afghanistan was slow. Link to comment

MediumPacer
Pitches up north are probably slowest in india, certainly lack bounce , although dharmashala and the recently relaid strip in lucknow is different. jaipur too used to have bounce some years back but it was more in favour of batting than pacers. express bowling
Dharamsala Pune Kolkata Mumbai Ahmedabad Lahli These are are venues which have fast and bouncy pitches on more occasions than not. Eden has used drop in pitches. IMO these venues should have fast and bouncy pitches for every domestic match. Most of our quick pacers are coming from Delhi, UP and Kashmir these days. Harshit, Mayank Y, Saini and Simarjeet from Delhi .. Tyagi and Mohsin from UP .. Umran and Yudhvir from.Kashmir. So, @Suhaan's suggestion about fast pitches in the Northern region holds a lot of merit. Delhi, Lucknow and Jammu must develop fast pitches to aid their domestic attacks. Lucknow has improved. Delhi should use a drop in pitch. Edited October 22, 2023 by express bowling Mosher, SRT100, Suhaan and 1 other 1 1 2 Link to comment
MediumPacer
The Calcutta pitch was quite lively after being relaid after 2016 wt20 but has tamed down since. Link to comment

I mentioned in another thread that UK doesn't have a single stadium which hosts international matches yet so there is potential for at least 1 there and perhaps another one or 2 in the Nilgiris or Siliguri area. express bowling, singhvivek141, Mosher and 1 other 4 Link to comment

One Stadium in North East (apart from Guwahati) is also needed. Preferably in Arunachal. North East is pretty much unexplored in Cricketing terms...more infra there will help us develop some players. rollingstoned, Mosher and Suhaan 3 Link to comment

Additionally, also how about some decent pitches in north east states too where whether is cloudy and ball may swing too..which could help prepare for Eng conditions. Suhaan 1 Link to comment
figo6762
Also while bcci is at this. Reduce the size of the seating capacity .. and provide batting cages with drop in pitches .. so batters can practice and bowler can bowl esp in t20’s .. it will also make the stadium experience that much better .. bsriharsha
Nothing is stopping curators from preparing faster wickets even in venues like Hyderabad. And not a fan of drop in wickets , the wickets lose their individual character. Link to comment

True, they also organized the series so that Brisbane had the 1st Test, which Australia for many many years had a good record of winning. Usually the Sydney Test would be the last test and by that stage for sub continent teams they already had lost the series. Link to comment
Suhaan
We play mostly our domestic cricket in winters, when temperatures throughout the country is conducive to maintain fast bouncy pitches for the season Only IPL is played from April to June, still there first week and a half we see good carry in some venues Link to comment
