And here both my flatmates were arguing whole day whether it's worth getting tickets for 20k from black market and spend another 30k for travel to attend the match after we failed to secure tickets on bookmyshow after multiple attempts.

Fake data. I was there in the stadium People were more than capacity.  Peole were standing and sitting on stairs also.

 

Tickets selling in this world cup was a complete scam.  Although we got our 6+2 tickets in MasterCard exclusive and first common sale at par.  But tickets in the black were sold at 20k to 50k.

 

I have seen lot games live.  Unofficial entries without tickets are quite common. 

 

Even in 2016 T20 world cup game between India and Australia at mohali 2 of my friends who went without tickets were able to witness the game while we got out tickets after a lot of struggle.

How many tickets were sold.  Is it available also.  I can tell you there wasn't a single seat vacant in our stand.  And people were sitting on stairs also.  

 

We had 8 tickets 2 of diffrent stands.  6 in same stand, But diffrent rows in the pair 2-2-2.  We could not find a single seat vacant in any of the rows. Infact more number of people were sitting on less number of seats just to sit together. In the end we swapped our tickets to sit together and adjusted on 5 seats. And all this when we reached at 11 am into the stadium.

 

I have already written about unofficial entries.

 

Also I will write and post photos of my whole experience (from elation of getting the tickets to dejection of loosing)in one or 2 days to elaborate more.
