Does it matter if Bumrah is the greatest or not? we don't need to be the greatest, england didn't have their greatest bowlers in the line up when they won T20 WC , neither did Aus.

Bumrah isn't the problem, we don't need to worry about him. who are the rest? Shami/Siraj? then who are our spinners Bishnoi/Axar/jaddu? already a long tail for this format. We need to groom one of our batters to be a good part timer, this dumb think tank doesn't want to try that out even in these dead rubber bilaterals.

We already have pandya as a batsman who bowls. We need to find bowlers who can bat, both spin and pace. Only spinners who can bat are jaddu, Ashwin, tewatiya, Rahul chahar. Pacers who can bat are deepak chahar, thakur, Harshit Rana, Umran.

Spinner wise Sundar & Axar are other two spinners who can bat.

Pace wise Yudhvir & Gurnoor can bat...I am not 100% sure on Umran though.

There are just 8 T20I before the world cup.

Don't think any fancy name will make it. So no point discussing Gurnoor, Harshit, Yudhvir or even Umran.

Its going to be from Bumrah, Shami, Siraj, Arshdeep, Mukesh, Avesh, Chahar and Shardul.
Likewise in spinners, its only Kuldeep, Bishnoi, Axar and Jadeja ( and maybe Yuzi).

Thats it.

Likely t20

bumrah

Shami

chahar ( new ball plus batting )

pandya ( batting plus bowling )

mukesh / avesh / siraj - based on IPL form and next 8 games

 Arshdeep and krishna as backup

outside chance for Umran and any left armer with good ipl .

playing xi for t20 wc should be:

rohit

gill

jaiswal

kishan wk

surya

rinku

pandya

jadeja

sundar

chahar

bumrah

Needs tail who can bat.

Sundar and Chahar issue is reliability due to weak body..I dont want them get injured during last moment..like Pandya did in ODI wcup..also we need wrist spinner to pick up wickets to break batting team momentum..

I am fine if we have batting till 8..but need good wicket taking reliable bowlers..

we know how reliable was kuldeep when the stakes was high. I like india to strengthen its strong point i.e. batting. Its the trend we seen in teams like eng, australia as they bat deep till 10th.

Batting hasn't been our strength for the last 7 to 8 years.

Australia picks top bowlers and teach them to bat.

England often picks bits and pieces players to have deep batting.

More than pace bowling, we should select a well rounded attack and genuine batting till. No. 8. If we do that, we can pick our best 3 bowlers.

Looking at all choices, my 6 bowlers will be

Guaranteed 12 Overs

Bumrah
Kuldeep
Bishnoi

8 overs to share
Pandya
Tilak
D Chahar

Overall playing XI

Gill  ( genuinely need Rohit here but he will bring Kohli also :wall: )
Jaiswal
Kishan (wk)
Sky
Pandya

Tilak
Rinku
Chahar
Kuldeep
Bishnoi
Bumrah

we dont have match winners in bowling dept.. allrounders are the key in t20..

Australia's bowlers are good..so they are not compromising on their bowling..

England also has decent bowling line up..just not for the indian surface..

During the Knock outs..he didnt bowl that bad..but was attacked..infact he did come back well against NZ..also he would be a different  bowler during the day..against Aus..who was just chasing 240 on a flatter\dewy wicket in the night..

..as far as his batting was concerned he did bat well to take India to 240..if you are replacing Kuldeep with a spinner who can bat then his batting must be top notch and consistent..and just okie dokie..as we are giving up on wicket taking ability here..though even then I dont want to have less than 4 specialist wicket taking bowlers..

I will trade off Kuldeep with Bishnoi..but not with okie dokie occassional batter spinner..as these occassional batters may come good against weaker teams but will easily be figured by top teams..

In t20 bowlers will go for runs, format is such that 1/2 bowlers are bound to have an off day. IMO only pak bowlers are able to figure a bit how to operate in T20s.

Rest all the teams have struggled to have a good bowling unit in t20s. If one checks the list of most eco. bowlers in t20is, its mostly those mystery bowlers.

Ind lacks mystery in their bowling so they need to get the bowlers who can bat and hit some long boundaries in last few overs/balls.

In current set Ind's specialist t20 bowlers does not fall into that category, all of them are non-eco(have eco. of 8.30+) and none can bat. Not sure why are they specialist t20i bowlers and on what factors are they picked.
