BCCI offers to extend Rahul Dravid's stint as head coach

Which foreign coach will make a change?

You mean the way Greg Chappell tried to phase out Ganguly?

Forget foreign coach.  Kumble was a strong personality and we all saw how that ended.  Kohli got his way.

Ideally , both Rohit and Kohli should be dropped entirely from the white ball setup in order to develop newer players.

Which coach - domestic or foreign - can do that?

Poor coach. Inflexible. Tactically incompetent.

Yet Jay Shah will give him extension.

I am curious, what are the powers of the BCCI chairperson? Who decides what? Isn’t there a board? Does he take all decisions unilaterally?  There is a President, CEO, VP, Secretary, Selectors,

Other key staffAjit Agarkar (Chief Selector)[5]
Ashish Shelar(Treasurer)[5]
Devajit Saikia (Joint Secretary)[5]
Abey Kuruvilla(General Manager)[8]
Vineet Saran(Ethics officer)
Dr Abhijit Salvi (Head, Anti-Doping unit)[9]
Shabir Hussein (Head, Anti-corruption unit)[10]
Arun Dhumal (Chairman, IPL)[5

Presidentedit

President is an elected position, and is considered the most-powerful position in the BCCI administration. Due to the president's financial power and the popularity of cricket in India, it is considered as a highly prestigious position. The President of the BCCI presides over the meeting of the apex council and the general body. He signs audited annual accounts and financial statements.[145][146]

The full-member state boards can vote in the presidential election. Gujarat and Maharashtra have more than one full member but as per the Lodha Committee, supreme court guidelines state any state can have only one vote in the election at any time.[147]

Former India-and-Karnataka cricketer, national selector, India under-19 teams' coach and President of the Karnataka State Cricket AssociationRoger Binny is the incumbent President of the BCCI. He succeeded Sourav Ganguly. Binny is a member of India's 1983 Cricket World Cup-winning team. He took charge in October 2022.[148][26]

Secretary

'BCCI secretary' is the second most powerful and important post after president. Secretary signs all the contracts and carries correspondence on behalf of BCCI. Jay Shah is the incumbent secretary. The secretary have power to take action or defend office bearers, employees of the BCCI.[123][149] Shah is also the present president of Asian Cricket Council.[150]

I see Ashwin's view on how amazing Aus 4D chess move to bat first was as a part of it. Every tom dick & harry who had just watched the games played in this WC at Ahmedabad could tell you batting second is the way to go, he made the aussies look like some rocket scientist to have figured it out. While not giving anything on the thought process of the team he was part of as to why its think tank wanted such an abysmal pitch (no curator in India is dishing that pitch out in finals without our think tank okaying it).

Aussies did do other things right. Cummins had been ineffective in this world cup. They got him to bowl cutters with a offspinners pitch deployed. That made a whole new wrinkle and was very effective.......

So it was not just the pitch and batting second.

If we don't get a foreign Coach, I am ok with Dravid over Laxman.  Bit disappointed that India did not look for a foreign coach to break the cycle and force players out of comfort zone.

The players rule over BCCI. Dhoni started this trend after WC win.
