Aus's no.9 batter Cummins is by far the best no.9 batsman in world cricket.  Too much of a challenge for kiwis.

Should have bounced out Cummins. WI were in similar position in that Gabba Test. Joseph ripped through their lineup especially tail with hostile aggressive bowling.

And once again it's Cummins. Won quite a few test matches and odi's with his resistance. Match winning 44 in the first ashes test, closed out SF against SA, Helped Maxwell put up a heist against Afg. He is as clutch as you get with the bat.

NZ is well known for tactfulness.  Either it is Southee or opposition as Australia they look extremely vulnerable against them. Even in world cup they could have won the match in the last over. They couldn't quiet close out.

I watched the first hour ball by ball. Shockingly poor.

This failure is on Rachin sadly. He won't be able to sleep for sure. That was one of the worst drop in NZ history given the importance of this test as they haven't beaten Australia in decades

This has happened to India as well a few times recently. Unlike NZ we have ammunition still we dropped the ball. That is the difference. Ofcourse batting also played its part. Correct field set, correct bowling, correct end. delaying games we just don't pay attention to these things. Once we get the team down we just let it drift.

It's not just on bowlers, although they should share a major part of the blame. Yesterday after Philips got out NZ could've easily added another 50 odd. Cummins was bowling fine but not unplayable balls, Lyon was barely turning it. Philips/Henry/Kugg all threw their wickets away to harmless spin

In WC2023 Final, Ind allowed Aus to chase 240 easily after having them at 47/3.   Now, Kiwis (led by dumbest ever captain Southee) took inspiration from Rohit's captaincy and allowed Aus to reach 281/7 from 34/4.    Congrats Kiwis.
