Nishabd was a creepy copy of Jeremy Irons’s Lolita which itself was a disturbing movie. RGV has no skill or nuance to make it for Indian audiences. Bad movie overall 

i thought nishabd was so so good. everyone played their role perfect. amitabh so credible. his monoogue at the end. one of my favorite performances of all time. and his vocals! whther it makes half of india uncomfortable is not my concern.

Overall, I am enjoying films by directors Nasir Husain and Vijay Anand. And of actors such as Shammi Kapoor and Dev Anand (mainly Dev’s films from 50s-60s), along with Rajendra Kumar for selected films.

For one sided love story - Chhaliya (1960)

Chaliyaa is hardly a love story. 

 

Its more the story of a do-gooder who helps another do gooder , who is hitherto his adversary, find a lost sibbling.

 

Shanti's character is a metaphor for siblings lost during the partition. 

 

Good movie, but surely you can't count it as a love story!

Yeah, not a love story in the traditional sense but a one sided love story. Can be classified as a drama film. 
 

There are two love angles -> Nutan-Rahman (two sides but one sided for some parts) & Raj-Nutan (one sided). 
 

The backdrop is the partition and what women who were left behind had to go through. And Raj or Chhaliya falls in love with one such helpless woman without fully knowing her background. 
 

It is a different type of film, a serious one, so had to mention it for its one sided love story.
