peak rohit and kohli were in 2019. they did really really well then

they were unlucky as they played on day 2 pitch. india would have chased and should have chased 240 anyway. 

since then they have been average.

2023 was an aberration cause our bowling was breathtaking. they made batsmen look better than they are.

2023 was mainly our bowling headed by Shami. Whatever the excuses the fact remains Rohit and Kohli haven't made the difference for more than a decade now.

True but a batting order of Axar at 4 followed by Shoonya, Dube, Jadeja and bowlers don't inspire much confidence. We're missing a specialist batsman like Rinku in there.
