Rohit is the catalyst

We went into the 2022 World Cup with an insipid lineup and mentality similar to the 2021 World Cup. The epitome of that was the start in the semi vs England where Rohit himself made 27 off 28.

Thankfully, he wasn’t bull headed and he quickly realised that this is not going to result in any silverware. And he also realised that he has to be the change and catalyst for others to follow.

He did that with aplomb in the 2023 World Cup and the assaults continued in this tournament. The knock against Australia was just nuclear detonation.

He has led to this mentality shift for us akin to Eoin Morgan. Absolute legend.

Rohit's turnaround in WC2023 and in this tourney was remarkable. Though some of his selections were iffy - Chahal selected in the squad, no Jaiswal or Rinku in the team, and continuous selection of Dube - he went for the wins rather than personal stats & glory.

Truly a great captain and team player :hatsoff:

I was against dube and I'm still not convinced that he will have a long career as he seems limited with bad footwork and anything out side his arc...it will be a matter of time he is found out but he did deliver..nothing outstanding but did well in the USA Australia and the final...so didn't do bad..

Dube should not be picked for intl  cricket moving forward.

Listen to Ashwin's channel.  Ashwin said that Rohit is an extremely data driven captain and he and Dravid make meticulous plans for each opponent and venue .

Said that it was the first thing Rohit would do was go to the venue and work out things the moment he gets there.

Sharp contrast to Kohli/Shastri.  Kohli once famously said that he doesn't believe in data.

That explains why Dravid was always on his laptop.

I had a sneaking feeling that he was bored in the middle overs and decided to watch Anupama
