Women's cricket had a different body for most part. Only recently BCCI took over. They are already taking care doesn't mean players should be given equal pay to men who actually generate revenue. The extra money can be used for lot of other causes.

I don't see why paying them equal to men is the problem.Women in all fields have to be encouraged.BCCI should have no issues in paying them.It is peanuts compared to what BCCI makes in revenue. One thing BCCI can do is bring fresh blood to the team. It seems the core of Women's team remains the same despite being stuck at the same place and stagnating. Harmanpreet has been there forever and I don't recall the last decent performance from her. Same with our bowling and even Shefali at the top flatters to deceive. Smriti is also someone who isn't suited to T20s. As for fielding and being athletic, our players are not a good example and lose more often to Aus & Eng due to the same. BCCI has to shake things up and not allow the women team to be in the comfort zone. Lord 1

Women sport needs all the backing they can get. And it's not as if they earn a lot from endorsements and via other channels which Men's team and players do. It'll take some time for sporting & cricketing culture to be established for women as we're not like Eng or Aus where girls/women have equal access to sporting infrastructure. Women sports and athletes already face plenty of challenges and hurdles as it is. We don't want to make it harder. Yes, make changes to the team so it's not a preserve of a select few, inculcate meritocracy, act on broadening the pool of players, and spread the sport. But you can't take away resources away from Women cricket and throw it at Men's cricket which is getting enough funding as it is.

Took over from women's body due to media pressure. It doesn't mean placing them equal to men until they produce results. It comes at a cost of bettering men's cricket
