Looks like other Asians in Badminton World Federation hate us. I invariably see our shuttlers against each other in early rounds in other events too.

Here also if Prannoy and Lakshya top their groups, they will face each other in round of 16.

Doubtful if Lakshya will top his group. #3 ranked player Jonathan Christie is in good form. Anyways if he doesn't top the group he's out anyways.

These two really need to shake off the rust and improve their games if they want to go deep. Not looking like the same pair that won the world championship and asian gold

Not really. Too many unforced errors from Chirag and Satwik. Chirag missed a couple of easy put aways at the net. Even the commentator was shocked.

 

Mattias Boe, the coach, is taking copious notes. Am sure he will have a lot to talk about with them after the match. The French pair has done well to get these many points vs these guys. They are nowhere in the same league.

Anyways one pt away from winning the match. Not a great start - still a win is a win.

Good start by India vs NZ in hockey. Two decent chances at goal. Good save from the Kiwi keeper to prevent the first goal

Damn. PC for NZ. Lucky one. Ball dropped down on the Indian defender... and they score. 1-0 NZ. India has dominated so far... unable to score Kiwis score on their first opportunity.

India look a pale shadow of themselves of how they looked fitness and strength wise in Asian games....being 1 goal down is nothing but strength and fitness looks down. 

 

I have no hopes of a medal in hockey seeing this.

They were actually the better team in the first qtr. Unlucky to have lost that PC. But the attack seems ineffective in the Kiwi qtr. They seem to be turning over the ball and aprt from the first couple of minutes when they looked like breaking through have been unable to get a clear shot at the goal or cause a PC. Strange.

Play comes after fitness and strength.

 

In Asian games they were looking like tigers, he-men , anything you may want to call. Whatever happened between then and now... I probably wouldn't be watching much of the hockey matches (because 1st quarter of the 1st match itself, I have seen the state of the team) unless I am surprised by the scorecard, which I am expecting to be against this team most of the time.
