Paris Olympics 2024 Discussion Thread

Winning Golds should be our target from the next Olympics. 1 Gold medal is worth more than 10 silvers and 20 Bronze when it comes to rankings. 

 

Inclusion of Cricket should help us win 2 extra medals, probably 1 Gold. But we must also push for Kabaddi in the Olympics. No reason why it can't be an Olympic sport. If added we can expect 2 or 3 Golds in just these 2 sports.

Don't be so sure that we will win Olympic gold in cricket but yes we can definitely win gold in many sports. Proper funding and setups need to be in place and ofocurse we need to pick on merit.

Reetika beat her to become U23 world champ last year. 

 

Tough that she didn't win against the current world champ Kyrgyz. Could have been a little more aggressive. I think she will back in the repechange though. Will be surprised if she doesn't medal

He's an outstanding and really exciting player. IMO, he wasn't there mentally. The most exciting Indian player to watch. 

Actually, Sat/Chi on song are amazing to watch as well. They usually dismantle their opponents. They just didn't seem prepared for the Olympics though. IMO, Sat/Chi not medalling along with some of the senior rifle shooters like Elevanil, Anjum Moudgil along with the always disappointing archers were the biggest blows along with Lakshya. 

 

Lovlina and Nikhat also were undercooked for being past world champ. Nikhat is a 2-time world champ. For her to have gone down the way she did was extremely poor.

More chance of a Gold in Men's Cricket than in Men's Hockey for us. Even in Women's Cricket only Aus is significantly better than us, rest of the teams we can beat.

Shooting really needs to take it up a notch as we can get multiple medals from the same shooter on song. We really have to target at least 3 golds from this

No reason why you can't follow Indian hockey matches in the ACT in September, any day a more fun sport than any version of cricket, even if you aren't watching just leave the stream on and go about your work. Ask your relatives and friends to do the same. Higher viewership, stadium attendance (try to watch a few Pro League games next time) will go a long way in helping the other sports.

I will always keep track whenever I get a chance for hockey. For me timings is shitee otherwise I would watch. If I watch at 3 4 I will die cause my daughter will wake me up at 7 sharp.

Abd neeraj aslo won Asian championship and world championship. He will come back hard next time. He is still young. Not in his prime

This loss to Arshad has hurt Neeraj badly. You can see it from his interviews. He will come roaring back. We need more ppl like him. The silver will motivate him.

Neeraj didn't lose, gave his season's best. The Pakistani won by smashing Olympic record, full credit to him.

Yah.. but our man isn't used to getting one-upped by anyone like this. You can see that this has become personal. Arshad of course deserved the gold with 2 90+m throws. Hats off to the guy.

Neeraj is the guy who has maximized his talent.He always give his best under pressure.Even yesterday his throw was SB.

 

90 plus was  too much for him yesterday.Who knows what is in store for future.

 

He was trying too hard in his later throws.
