ECB wanted their players (especially J Root) to stat pad massively at home by scheduling long successive test series against minnows.  They succeeded against hapless Windies but it has backfired against Lankans (Don't see Lankans losing this test from here).  Adding salt to injury,  poms are on the verge of being eliminated from WTC Final race as well.

Both Kusal and NIssanka are very strong off the backfoot. Our bozos were bowling short ball after short ball in the ODI series to them and got pummelled.
