Looking at his form, won't be surprised if Root has another bumper series against us next year, 800+ runs, at least 3 centuries.

So England's plan would be to be in lead by 200 runs and declare at Tea today, then have a crack at Pakistan for 4 sessions 120 overs approx. Result still looks difficult.

England did all they could do but enforcing a victory after conceding 550 runs in the first innings is almost impossible.

pak will be 3-4 wickets down. leach-bashir will go through them.

Nah he won’t score that much unless Eng serve us flat beds

Last time he scored 770 something. He has only improved since then.

He'll do well but 800+ not possible. Not against this bowling attack.

Can have a 2021-22 style series.

Eng 2024 will be interesting. Ind's weakness has been swing and with Anderson retiring and flatter pitches, the batting will prolly not have those horror shows they had in England (even in 21 3rd test had one and in 2018 2nd test). Main issue is taking the wickets.

Two 300s in same innings, has it ever happened? SL came close in 2006.

Poyzzz deserve all the humiliation.

They will lose all 3 to Eng and 2 in SA.

Will also drop 1 vs WI.

Pak cricket going the way of hockey.

Usually players hit a golden peak before declining terminally.

Have seen many cricketers going through same route. MD Yousuf, Ricky Ponting, Mark Waugh are some names I can recall.

England has conceded over 500 twice in Bazball era and won both of them. Once they conceded 550 against NZ and won in 2022

I still feel angry at Srilanka for keeping us under the sun for 3 days straight where they scored 953 runs. I feel bad for the Pakistani bowlers, bowling on these highways series after series breaking their backs in the process. PCB has zero mercy towards their bowlers.

Lol Don't judge on the basis of playing on Pakistani highways against their Teletubbies bowlers. Look what happened to Bangladeshs recently.

Tbh they were never ever great at cricket. Just a middling team who exploited tampering, chucking and home umpiring to shameless extent.

In hockey they were kings once upon a time, who even dominated the goras on Astros, despite biased umpiring.

Root has always owned India, great record even in India.

Most talented batsman have ever seen except Sachin

True.

Smith had insane hand-eye coordination, and hunger for runs.

Kohli had insane drive, fitness, work ethic.

Kane mama has technique and 200 IQ.

None as talented as Root. Complete batsman.

In England yes.

In Ind good record but a bit of statpadding.

2012 last match scored decently in a draw on a dead pitch.

2016 was flat pitches and was overshadowed by Kohli, Pujara, Vijay etc

2021 did well in 1st innings against weak lineup on flat pitch bit then failed in the rest

2024 had a century but was generally poor

England 2014 was a weak Indian bowling lineup.

2018 he was poor

2021 was great series. That was a strong Ind bowling lineup.
