PCB is run by bunch of idiots. As it is handful of people show up to watch test match in Pakistan, some genius thought an even better idea would be to schedule 1st test Monday morning.

Yeah ! I was also surprised about the match being on Monday. If they start the match on Saturday how will they let the whole world know about their pious Friday prayers between the match.

Last time England mauled them for 500 runs in a single day lol. And if I'm not wrong there were only 75 overs bowled. They were all set for 600 in a single day until bad light or something saved the Paxtani bowling from an even bigger humiliation 

 

This time around, Pak batting is even weaker and bowling is as garbage as it was. But i think two consecutive 3-0s just doesn't seem possible if you take law of averages into account. Pak should knick one test.

Pakistanis are better off preparing rank turners. Batting would then become a lottery and they could win a test or two. Otherwise they will get slaughtered on regular flat pitches.

This time the English bowling is a little weak. They should prepare ultra flat highways and look to draw the three matches.

That 3-0 whitewash couple of years ago destroyed the psyche of Pakistan team after which they never recovered.The England team used to lose series after series against Pakistan in UAE but their fortunes changed after Cricket returned to Pakistan. I think Pakistan will go with a different approach in this series which will yield different results, even England don't play Bazball with the same ferocity that they did before. 

 

Mark Wood is a big miss as he is someone who can create problems for the batsmen even on the flattest of Wickets.

Stokes is anyway a liability in SC. At his best, will average 25 with the bat and 50 with the ball. Blessing in disguise for Poms.

Not with the ball... I remember half fit Stokes Outta nowhere bowled a magic ball to dismiss Rohit in Dharamsala... It was like a fast leg break.

Then that Ahemdabad spell back in 2021.  He was cranking it upto 140k and it took Pant and Sundar special to bail us out.

His bowling is very underestimated I feel.

 

Poyzz batters with their awful techniques might have been exposed & dude bowls mean short balls as well

Old man Jimmy and that racist brat Robinson were phenomenal last time with reverse swing and even wood chipped in. 

 

Their seam attack looks malnourished this time around. Don't know what they are thinking playing woakes in Asia after all of his repeated failures.

He doesn't have it in him to bowl a lot anymore.  He'll keep breaking down otherwise. 

 

Enough evidence from the last couple of years for that. 

 

And without his bowling , he's a bit of a liability.  

 

England are taking the attacking option by playing 5 bowlers.  It's bold but I'm not sure how Carse and especially Woakes will hold up on  Pakistani wickets.

Without Stokes bowling he is a massive liability indeed in subcontinent.

But as a specialist captain role he is leagues above Pope.

 

He has mastered the art to create artificial pressure through his field sets.

Did that in Pak and later in Hyderabad and Ranchi as well.

Yeah usually his field placings are very good.  But it good exposed in India where the likes of Gill were not lured into false shots and he kept changing fields too often . 

 

Especially in that final innings in Ranchi. Gill in the post match said he was aware what they were trying to do with those field placements.

Going by Pak-BD series and what happened last time Eng toured, this will be 100 times more entertaining than Ind vs NZ. 

 

Pak I think haven't won a home test for 3.5 years, last 10 games, 6 lost, 4 draws. Long may this streak continue. If they get whitewashed here, won't rule out WI beating them as well in Jan.
