Why these IPL retentions/negotiations during a test series ?

Look at the timing of announcement of the BGT squad.  It was done at midnight while the 2nd test was underway. (with Ind being in losing position, facing the threat of a shocking home series loss to a 6th ranked team). The timing was such that there would be no press conference; no Q&A sessions.  The fear among selectors & TM is quite apparent.  As if this was not enough, the bullsh!t IPeeL retentions/negotiations hv been introduced at a time when the fans are coping with the trauma of a humiliating home test series (potential whitewash) during diwali.   Good going BCCI!!

I don't think it matters. They are losing with or without auction. It is as if the retention talks make them suck balls against seam and spin.
