Lets talk about one of the longest lasting wars ever. @zen. I already know who will butt in against it

Don’t recall much details about this war except that it brought about the fall of Carthage at the hands of Rome. Will need to read about it to refresh myself.

If I am not wrong, Rome exaggerated the threat from Carthage to destroy it.

cathage is a better city to dominate the mediterranean trade than rome - which is why they rose to prosperity after 2nd punic war despite crushing war indemnity. 

This is because Carthage sits right by the scicily-tunisia choke point that connects eastern & western mediterranean and carthage is blessed with not one but TWO natural harbours - meaning its trade port didnt have to accomodate military ships and military operations worked lightning quick as the harbour is not dual-use one but seperate use one.

Romans realized this by 3rd punic war.
