Not sure if this is blown out of proportion or lost in translation somewhere. but frnds and family do not do any favours when they come out for those kind of interviews.

Dhoni ,kolhi, virat, dravid are big names and calling them out as if sanju has a stellar fc and list A career and he was deprived of a place in ind team.

There have been many players who never got Ind call even after having good domestic season.

 

Yes when sanju bust in the IPL scenes he looked like the next big thing in Ind cricket he was hitting 6s so effortlessly like wi batters do.

but he lost his path and tbh never had any good domestic season to push his case, he was not that. Only in last few years he started having decent IPL seasons and some good intnl performances, still he did not have a monster IPL season still he is in the t20i side.

Sanju is a sought after player in the IPL and isn't exactly left out in the wilderness. His own inconsistency is to blame for lack of opportunities in the Indian side. His dad is unnecessarily making hyperbolic claims.

I say combination of things. There was a period he was good in ODIs not in T20s. At that time he lost his spot in ODIs. Our format illiterate dummy selectors have ruined many careers like this.  Other than that Sanju was responsible for his own failures. Sanju samson made debut when Uthappa/Murali vijay were around playing T20 internationals. Then after 5 years got his second chance in early 2020. Didn't make any impact. JUst for comparison Suryakumar yadav made debut one year later in 2021. He has 2500 runs. Sanju has only 700 runs including these 100s.
