Contrast that with Sudharsan who got 3 matches in England where batting tracks were flat pattas.

Padikal does not have a big front-foot stride, and he does not have wrist articulation to play with such short front-foot technique.

Also most of times in IPL facing a high-pace bowler it looked it he was late to the ball.

 

Unless he has figured a way of his own to counter such issue, it will be hard

Opinions for and against will remain no matter what he or anyone else achieves.

 

But I want to see what boxes he is ticking and what areas have crosses or question marks.

 

The weaker areas will need work.

 

He has displayed good temperament and hunger for runs. 

 

He has also displayed good technique against spin on reasonably turning tracks. This area had a huge vacuum in our team.

 

His footwork has improved. But has it improved enough to counter high pace or swing  ?   Want to see.  This will be a key area.

 

His pull shot needs a bit more work.

Paddikal should be sent to India A team along with Jurel to NZ, I am sure they will do that anyway.
