straighttalk Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Confirmed playing last two tests..Brisbane may be touch and to.
lemsip Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Expectations from Shami. are a bit inflated. He averages 32 in Australia and last played there when he was 4 years younger. He would definitely be better at controlling an end than the alternatives but he is not the panacea. AKane 1
R!TTER Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 And what will that do? You think he's Kapil+Imran rolled into one

I think that would be good enough. Aus themselves have a shaky lineup. Even they were restricted to 330 odd. With a good 3rdseamer plus better bowling yesterday could have been 240-250 odd.
The Realist Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Smells like the RP Singh fiasco on the 2011 Eng tour. Shami is close to 40 anyway so can not expect much.
Ultimate_Game Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Won't make a difference if our batting keeps on getting bowled out for 150 or 180 in less than 50 overs on Day 1. Bumrah made a difference last time but with passengers like Kohli and Rohit, it's beyond bowlers. cricspirit and New guy 1 1
lemsip Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 I think so far Bumrah and Siraj have actually done pretty well with 12 and 9 wickets at averages of 11 and 18.7 - better than the Aussies in the series to date. Rana probably needs to sit out the next game and Akashdeep needs to be given a shot. He is a more accurate bowler and is physically fit and can bowl long spells. Reddy should also be bowling more than he is. Akashdeep will probably do a better job than Shami right now - he is younger, probably faster and is in rhythm. The problem is the captaincy where Rohit seems clueless in how to use the bowlers or to create pressure. This is the third time in a row where Head has not been tested with bouncers despite everyone knowing this is his weakness. There is no reason a younger Akashdeep can't do a better job than an older Shami going through rehab. Reddy should also be used more. he has been inexplicably given very short 3 over spells despite impressing every time he has bowled. Ultimate_Game and New guy 1 1

The Dark Horse Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Half of Shami is still better than Harshit rana

Remind me how well Kohli played in his first English series? I have never seen such fans as Indian fans, they will ass lick seniors who have been failing for years but go after youngsters like vultures in their very first series bouncers, lemsip, Ultimate_Game and 1 other 1 3

I'm the one saying Rohit shouldn't be anywhere near this team. If you have already written off WTC then that's a different discussion.

You can't roll over Australia with such a weak batting lineup. A team like NZ thrashed us at home. Bowling can't save you always. The Dark Horse and Manucrick 2
