The Hound Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 They got an opening batsman Jordan Hermann who should be in test team. If they don't pick him soon I can see England trying to poach him.

But on home grounds, a top order batter is supposed to perform atleast once in 4 innings. This hack is just not good enough for tests. Struggled against SL too at home. Now has failed to last even 5 mins in both innings of this test. SA team selection is as bizzare as ours. He had a good series against SL. In the first innings he couldn't do anything about a ball which shot through. he is capable of eating up balls and playing time when needed. Frustrated 1
Gollum Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Same mistake as India against NZ. Make such lottery pitches and bring opposition into the game. Happened against us as well earlier this year in that ridiculous 92 overs finish.
Norman Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 36 minutes ago, Frustrated said: @Norman Ab kya bologe janaab!! SA choking badly. Still a long way to go.. Still there's no way your statment of "pakistan having more skilled players than us" is true irrespective of the result. India even with the old geriatrics would smash this weakened South African bowling. Frustrated 1

First class Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 If SA made to the final of WTC, it will be an easy victory for the opposing team , whether it would be India or Australia . This SA team is such a weak one , even for their own standard, lucky to be with a chance to be in the final.
First class Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Poor umpiring , two LBWs were plumb out but not given by umpires , was an easy review for Pakistan and got both out. Particularly Stubbs should have been and easy .decision for the umpire .
Frustrated Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 SA top order looks extremely vulnerable. It's their lower middle order and tailenders who bailed them out in 1st inning. If SA reaches WTC final, it should be an easy victory for Aus.

Overall, the on-field umpiring has been pretty ordinary throughout the test. Vijy 1

Any lateral movement and their batters poop their pants. Frustrated 1

They will lose 2-0 vs Pak, as they did against SL

rollingstoned Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 (edited) This would have been in the bag had Poyz not thrown away a few wickets in their 2nd innings. They were looking quite comfortable but got out playing stupid shots to innocuous deliveries. Edited December 29, 2024 by rollingstoned

Sean Bradley Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 (edited) Watching this match now, entire Pakistan team when they cheer their bowlers up behind the stumps sounds like goats bleating. Does anyone else notice that? Edited December 29, 2024 by Sean Bradley rollingstoned 1
rollingstoned Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Bavuma gets injured every time I see him batting. Hardly I can remember a time when he did not take treatment while batting.
