Aus should play a Lance Morris in place of Mitch Marsh - forget the allrounder crap.

Both India and Aus have a lot of old deadwood in their teams - both have selectors who are pals with the team mgt and senior players.

 

If the match is a draw like this pathetic excuse for a match, everyone goes on as is. But if there is a result, whoever loses is going to face the music.

Nothing will happen in India's case. We know who the deadwood are and everyone can see the real problem - the two batting stars who average 3 and 6 respectively in the 1st innings of a Test over the last 6 matches. Yet they'll be played no matter what.

 

It's not the "deadwood" but youngsters and fringe players who'll pay the price despite not being that bad and not being the real problem.

But Nitish Reddy has done no wrong and should not be dropped.

 

Easwaran can come in at 3 or Rohit can bat up the order allowing Reddy to bat at 6. Clearly it doesn't matter what position Rohit bats. Succks everywhere.

Yeah he is playing unfortunately in place of McSweeney - Aus too is hard on newcomers but not people like Khawaja.

I doubt Jhye Richardson will play as they want an all-rounder with Jhye isn't. But that would be a good option and I don't think we'll be able to get to 200 if they play 4 pacers.

Nitish has looked our best batter after Rahul. Don't think even Rohit and team management can be so dumb. Maybe they can come up with a excuse of Kohli or Rohit being "injured" and replace one of them.

That's why I said "injured" not "dropped". This will allow them to save their faces. Something like Kohli injured his hand in practice and will be out for 2 weeks or Rohit pulled his groin muscle or had a groin strain and will take 3-4 weeks to recover will be easier options.

 

If Kohli and Rohit aren't ashamed of averaging 3 and 6 respectively in 1st innings of a Test across 6 Tests, nothing's gonna force them to drop themselves.
