Dear @Mariyam

You were wrong on all counts,  with your unreasonable bias- the honorable Supreme Court repeated exactly what I said, and Govt too stepped in.  Everybody cannot be wrong no ?

The least I expect from you is to be a sport and concede defeat or resign - to use Chess parlance. :hitler:

SC judge made observations, not a judgement There is a basic difference to know.

Just Observations ?? He has been barred from airing any shows by the Supreme court.  Even earlier you were unaware and were skeptical of a 12 crore injection for a rare disease.

Bhai, lately it looks like you don't fully follow the news.

Guys like Munawar Farroqi are backed strongly by the Indian Muslim community. They like such characters who are at 'conflict with the Hindus'. They even back their rioters, criminals to the hilt.

Check out the several thousand of Muslims that attended the funeral of the infamous Buduan double-child murderer who was killed in police encounter. It was bizarre to see such a massive crowd for a just random criminal even by their standards.

There has been outrage in the country, and the scumbags have been reprimanded with stern words &  prohibited by the Supreme Court  -  Govt has also sprung into action.

So if you think its only me who is taking the " moral high ground " then you have to be living in an alternative universe.

Govt and courts going after them doesn't make it right, thats the whole point of the thread. Ofcourse they can't go after PM for making similar 'joke'.

Whole thing is just an exercise to look like they are doing something while avoiding real issues. Comedians are just soft targets

Since it means so much to you, here you are:

I resign. :innocent:

Now that it is established that you won, let me interpret what the SC has *observed*. The observation was that the comments were vulgar. Which is a very No :reddy:, :sherlock: comment. Everyone here knows that the comments are utterly vulgar. No one has disagreed with that. No searing insights there by the SC.

And what it has *directed*? Unfortunately it is nothing on the lines of what you assume.

For the longest time you were unaware about the fact that "Latent" was behind a paywall. Let us look beyond that for now.

What the SC has said ( in brackets are my comments)

  • No new FIRs shall be registered against Allahbadia based on the same remarks ( This is on lines with what I said re: the FIR in Assam. The SC has merged them all into one big case so that these guys are not harassed into going to multiple locations to give the same statements)
  • He must cooperate with the police whenever summoned ( A summon is generally on basis a chargesheet or an existing FIR. Police have yet to tell the media what specific charges they have put on the comedians. They put public obscenity but the Bandra Metro Magistrate quashed it doesn't fall under the ambit of "public" which is exactly what I had said multiple times. Its a paid only adults show).
  • He shall not be accompanied by a lawyer into the police station during questioning
  • He must surrender his passport at Thane police station and cannot leave the country without prior permission of the Investigating Officer, and this Court ( While this may seem harsh, the precedent for this is Abhinav Arora vs State of India)
  • He must refrain from participating in any shows in the interim. (Notice it is mentioned till the interim. Its not a blanket ban on him. Which means till his questioning is done and the police decide what charges to file against him. Then its up to the honourable SC if the ban stays through the duration of the case or is immediately quashed. Quite likely that we will have the pleasure of seeing his dull podcasts before you know it)

Great insights into the minds of Muslims! :sherlock:

You seem to know the mindset of Muslims and whom they support so well. Even better than the Muslims themselves.

Two things:

Munnawar is not anti Hindu. That is your assertion. Maybe insensitive at times, but not anti Hindu. There are Muslim groups who have called for his total boycott because of his content and they find it offensive; his jokes and his portrayal of Muslims.

He is not someone who is well recognized in the Muslim community. Or by any community for that matter. All his fame (relative to his past self) is post Big Boss.

Do not respond to this by posting some pictures of his Big Boss victory lap. That is very common in impoverished areas or areas where the local populace belongs to a backward socio economic class and one of theirs wins something even if it is something as meaningless and fixed as Big Boss.

Shardul Thakur's welcome when he went to Palghar after the Australian series win was on the same lines).

Bhai, lately it looks like you don't fully follow the news.

Bhai, I read about the SC procedures on this case, didn’t watch some edited video. RA’s lawyer Dr Chandrachud argued in this case and the Judgewas  Suryakant (the same chutiya judge who observed the Nupur Sharma is a big mouth  who caused communal riots)

The petition was to get anticipatory bail on all FIRs on RA and get protection from SC as RA was getting death threats. Judge Cunt, sorry Kant made all those things you mentioned as his opinions on the FIRs and justified the FIRs with his remarks. It is not a judgement on the FIRs or prosecution case on RA which is still under investigation and will be tabled later. Here’s the thread on it:

SC then passed an order, again not a judgement.

Read this article:

https://www.barandbench.com/news/litigation/supreme-court-stays-arrest-ranveer-allahbadia-bars-him-shows

The SC order:

GkDXhfCXUAAPJRt?format=jpg&name=medium

SC doesn’t agree with your biased judgment on RA/Samay Raina, but Justice Cunt remarks match yours .

Let’s keep this discussion focused and not beat around the bush. I assume you were joking about a ₹58 YouTube “paywall” – quite the serious barrier, right? Practically the cost of a cup of tea at an Udupi restaurant these days.

Let’s also not obscure facts with legal gymnastics. The Supreme Court’s stance is clear—Allahbadia has been forced to surrender his passport and can no longer air shows. That’s a significant consequence. Meanwhile, Indian law enforcement ( from multiple states )  is still pursuing the other disgraceful degenerate, Samay, whom you seem to admire. He openly admitted on a US show (while touring) that this kind of content "sells."

But the era of building a career on filth masquerading as humor is ending in India, after this.

Nobody respectable will associate with him anymore—just like Sajid Khan (Farah Khan’s brother), who has been socially ostracized and rendered irrelevant post-#MeToo.

If you believe that one can gain “influencer” status and make a living by using vulgarity as humor, that’s your prerogative. But let’s be clear—freedom of speech is never absolute.

If tomorrow, your kids grow up in an environment where this kind of content is the norm and begin emulating it, will you still defend it?

Finally, @Mariyam , you can spare me the "pleasure" of watching Allahbadia’s low-IQ podcasts.

However, if you genuinely want to elevate your taste, I strongly recommend watching Nikhil Kamath instead:

https://www.youtube.com/@nikhil.kamath/videos

PS: @Mariyam  -- Being a 90s kid growing up in Mumbai, I have grown up on really good content.

I am genuinely deeply upset at how these filthy abusers have degenerated the entertainment ecosystem and feel they can get away with anything and influencing the next generation. I want them out of business - period.

 1. Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology and Communications raised the issue surrounding Allahbadia during a meeting where Sanjay Jaju, secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, was present.

2. GoI. has asked all OTT platforms to self-regulate abusive content.

Everything doesn't have to be very dramatic and stern to be called action, right ?

This is a welcome action. Go after the platform for allowing abusive content rather than individuals. These platforms make a lot of money from Advertisers based on the large viewership of India, let them heed to the Indian government’s rules. Do business in our country on our rules.

There are worse content kids in India are seeing , your obsession with only edge comedy which is vulgar and disgusting seems hypocritical. Ex Alr Balaji has shows where it is shown that family members fantasize sleeping with each other. The makers of such shows get Padma awards by the same government, looks very hypocritical going after a few persons of some show making a vulgar joke. That is a TV channel or streaming (I presume) aired on subscription . The makers get away legally because it is behind a pay-wall and not available for all. You know how easy it is for anybody to access such shows. Also Insta reels and content creators are making dirty vulgar content that is freely available based on mere following. These are the ones that the government should ideally go after.  While at it, do something about the vulgarity in movies , songs (Bhojpuri, so called India rap music) as well
