Mayank Yadav set to miss at least first half of IPL

I'm sorry but Kamboj, Prasidh or any other pacer doesn't have the same kind of potential which Mayank does. Mohsin is another player who got unlucky with his arm injury. If he can fully recover from the injury and regain his arm strength, he can easily play for India in shorter formats.

v.small sample but if returns as the same bowler as he was in his 1st 2 games then it becomes the cheat code at ipl.

I'm not saying Kamboj is in the same league as Mayank, but you need to take calculated risks.  Two injury prone players being top retentions wasn't a smart call in my opinion.

Mohsin is back though. It's just that he hasn't regained full strength in his bowling arm but he'll still last the IPL and one of the better bowlers - much better than likes of Avesh Khan.

may be in world cricket too..the balls were zipping past the batters even on Indian tracks..

Mayank and Mohsin both are match winners.

Even if they play 3-4 games, they will make an impact. Plus you have to understand that players will high potential will attract the attention of selectors as well.

 

Take in case of Mayank, even if he play one game, everyone will be glued to TV to see what impact he can cause. Coz they have seen how he bowled against some of the best batters in the world.

Pre-injury, he was.

Post injury, he was become fat and huge, pace is also gone. Fitness too took a nosedive.

But in the interview with Shubhankar Mishra, he was looking leaner.

Some hope for Mohsin if his stated age is his actual age.  His attributes - left arm , pace, release height are very rare and will be a big loss.

"Mayank, who everyone was very excited about last year, he was going quite well (coming back from a back injury), and he kicked his toe on the bed," Langer said. "He got an infection in his toe. It's put his rehab back about a week or two weeks. But he's up and running. We regularly see videos of him bowling. I saw a video of his yesterday. So, hopefully by the back end of the tournament, Mayank will be up and ready to go for us."

I think what he meant was while walking suddenly u catch ur toe on the bed legs. It happens to many.

Me too. A stubbed toe on a stair etc is common but that resolves in 5 to 15 minutes. Getting an infection means open wound etc and that I have never seen or heard of against a "bed leg".

Looks like Mayank is snake-bitten. Everything which can go wrong, and some, has gone wrong for him. If this goes on, he may end up like Karthik Tyagi.

couple of days back it was he is taking time to recover now suddenly he injured his toe and it got infected as soon as ipl started. something does not fit right
