rollingstoned Posted March 17, 2025 Author Posted March 17, 2025 How many legends league are going on right now? There was another gareeb legends league match going on in Udaipur yday lol. Saw some former ipl players in it. Ans then there was that league in UK where we beat Poyz in the final last yr. I was surprised how well attended these matches were, must be the same as the Road safety series.

Who has time to watch retired buzurgs play when there's regular intl cricket available all the time? Really want to know who actually watches these series & games?

You will get good crowds in India for most cricket games beyond a certain level even if 90% of the public don't give a **** or even know it is going on. and Here Sachin was playing so I can imagine why it was full when the CT got over last week.

If I didn't read about it in ICF I wouldn't even know this tourney was on.
Gollum Posted March 17, 2025 Posted March 17, 2025 A venue like Raipur doesn't host many international matches, no wonder people turned up. Over a million population, capital city, cosmopolitan, manufacturing centre esp. iron and steel. Don't underestimate some of these second tier cities, they are booming. rollingstoned and AuxiliA 2
CoverDrive Posted March 17, 2025 Posted March 17, 2025 Goal to become a mid level cricketers who will hardly get a look in at top level but be good enough to build a whole career in “Legends circuit”. Negi, Gony, Naman Ojha etc. Yusuf Pathan has played 10X more senior cricket than actual one.
Lord Posted March 17, 2025 Posted March 17, 2025 not bad quality of cricket actually. Atleast much better than WPL rollingstoned 1

Stadium design looks quite similar to wankhede, I'm surprised they have not hosted an international game yet. Road safety series happened 2-3 yrs ago. Gollum 1

Have seen Parwinder awana, Bisla, Gurkeerat Mann, P Ojha, Ishwar Pandey, Rahul Sharma etc still doing well for sometime here. Recently retired players like Rayudu, Uthappa are obviously still the best players, poyz legends team last yr otoh had a few current PSL players too.

The hardly retired cricketer can’t be too good else people would cry foul. Build a team around 2-3 stars and then add few who will actually win you the matches are they are still in their 30s
