Sai Sudarshan .. love him

This guy is super good ... Really liked his technique ...

 

Straight drive ..pull shot..pick up shot ...sweep 

 

Picture perfect 

 

Somehow ..I feel he is better than Gill and jaiswal ... But all that talent has to convert it runs ... Hopefully I would see him in test matches pretty quickly ...

 

Hopefully ..he is not lost like amre's and others..

 

Can some expert tell me ... Why he is not preferred as compared to like of Gill /jaiswal

Sai Sudharshan made his debut in SA and scored two impressive 50's on tough wickets. He hasn't played since in the ODI team. Sanju Samson who scored a hundred for India in his last ODI in SA hasn't played in a ODI game since. It has been 1.5 years since both of them featured in the ODI team. We are wasting good players and not sure why. Sai Sudharshan should be opening the batting for India in ODIs. He is in great form and does very well on A tours as well. Seems like he has never been in the radar since that 2023 series in SA where he showed great technique on some tough pitches.

Its been only 3 series since SA series -- Ind vs SL, Ind VS Eng and CT , not much odis so far getting a chance is not easy plus couple of 50s wont cut it fr Ind regualr.

Plus kolhi is already there in Odis, jaiswal is not getting chances there was a fight for 1 spot between jaiswal and S.iyer.

 

There are not many spots available and Sai can only play in top 3

Its been a good IPL season so far for Sai, seems like he has added some shots, but still lacks the power game for t20 but tries to keep the team before himself.

I tries everything in his limited range as a t20 batter.

 

But can not be stuck some1 similar to him at the opposite end that can be detrimental to the team , t20 needs power game and should be able to play a high tempo.

Knowledgeable folks (like us ) who have seen him bat have been asking for him to bat at 3 in both ODIs and Tests. His knocks in SA on tough wkts were amazing and I rate him higher than Gill.

 

But somehow the BCCI and higher ups love Gill for some reason and have been pushing Gill as the multi-format star when he clearly isn't. Both Jaiswal and Sai are better than Gill but we can't do much when even has beens and dead weights like Rohit and Kohli aren't going anywhere soon.

 

Looks like Jaiswal and Sai are destined to get into the team in their 30s the way things are going and 40 year old useless phucks are preferred to the actual performing players & youngsters.

Should have been part of bgt, they took Padikal who has issues with pace at its v.clear, Sai should have been tried there.

 

Problem with him in white ball is - lack of power game plus he can only play in top3, even in A side S.iyer comes in at 3, he can not be in odi side unless rohit. kolhi and s.iyer are not playing the series/game.

 

Do not think he is t20i batter ,gt is formed around Gill and Sai so everything is kept that way - Butler comes in 3 because GT want to maximize GIll and Sai as batter and have them play the pp, then comes rutherford trying to hit from ball1 , Gt had a bad season last yr because both gill and sai lacked power and there was no 1 who could come and start hitting from ball1.

 

With white-ball cricket moving so fast think he will have issues scoring at high pace and keeping the tempo-up of good bating pitches and if stuck with gill then Ind will always be scoring just par or sub-par similar to pak team in white-ball.

With 320 being looked as just par score would you have gill and sai in same team ???

Badada Vada must be kicked out on IPL alone

His record has been horrendous,even if he plays and perform in one of the innings of one recent tournament,take it as "long ago" performance considering his age

A month long duration for him is too much time for his age

In ODIs we can have Gill and Jaiswal open with Sai at 3. In T20s neither Gill or Sai deserve to be in the team. And in Tests, Sai is the ideal no. 3.

Tests and ODIs. Sai will be a beast at 3 in ODIs batting at a SR of 90 and being the backbone of the team. Need to get him and Jaiswal in ODI setup ASAP to get the team set for 2027 WC. Both Jaiswal and Sai have shown they can bat and score away from home. Jaiswal showed it in Australia, and Sai helped us win ODI series in SA where he scored runs on tough wkts.

 

IMO time to say goodbye to Rohit and Kohli and let the new gen come in. WC is 2.5 years away and Rohit is already a liability for the most part. Plus Kohli's reflexes have waned. Time to finally let them go after nearly 20 years with the Indian team. Gotta give next gen their chance.

Totally agree

 

I want to see him play in real cricket (test cricket) not the tamasha cricket 

 

I remember seeing him SA odis and he is miles ahead of everyone who played in that tournament. He is better than some SA players as well in that tournament..likes of miller etc

 

I think you need a good PR team to play for india

Even tilak played that tournament and he didn't had any answers for short bowls and sai handled so well

Dude ...those 50s are worth gold .. have you seen that series?

 

200 on a flat pitch doesn't say much about the batsmen ...even jadeja got 2 to 3 double hundreds in the ranji matches and we all know his technique 

 

Tough conditions and very good bowling and yet he excelled ... He should be given a go

 

Had this guy played australia series ... It could have been a 2 all series and all the matches would have been very close

Didn't Tilak score two 100s in SA in t20s.I did not see any of those odis or t20s.
