Yup... Gwalior, Khajuraho, Agra etc should be our strike bases for Pak.

MP is a good place...sufficient distance from all sides.

Mki+ brahmos 2 1000km = bye bye pakistan aie bases

Pak will try to get equivalent of tomahawks to hit these bases. So they will need kusha as protective layer

Brahmos II is 800 right ?

There is some news about the newer version of MKI as well in production under HAL to compensate for the lost jets (with an additional coating to reduce RCS). I am just wondering why dont we produce more MKIs as they're easier to integrate with our Electronic Command system.

That's one advantage Rafale has currently over MKIs...it's advanced for modern warfare. We should be able to do the same with MKIs as well unless there is some structural limitation.

I think air version with less payload is 1000km. As i understand brahmos that hit pak was 290km. Oldest version. The 450km version was not used. Iaf learnt that even p15 though theoretically 300km was effective around 200km.

Thats one thing about bvr. There is range and speed (no escape zone). You probably need like mach 10 speed with the ability to bend at those speeds to hit targets 300km away. As i understand pl15 is mach 6/7. (I could be wrong). We need to check kill zone and speed of p17. Pak will upgrade to that.

Re mki i think radars they are changing to drdo ones. On paper its a big improvement. Lets see how they link to s400 and kusha or netra.  Will have astra mk2+ some other missile. Either r37 exports version (mostly) or meteor (french agreed if drdo radar)  Thats the super sukhoi. I think with delays galore with tejas mki will keep getting 12 to 15 orders a year. We shouls have 400 by 2035.

Re rafale vs mki.

Its the network vs platform debate.

Rafale better bird or platform. Mki connects to s400 which rafale cannot. Mki much more readily allows mods such as brahmos.

In context of indian eco system mki > rafale. Rafale in french or nato eco system > su30 mkk in russian set up. Though even there i think russians have chosen other platforms for hypersonic missiles.

This is exactly why i think iaf planners have been **** and its also why paf stole a march. Jf17 **** platform but there is a big moneyball effect when operating in chinese eco system. Their f16 use data link 16 so cant talk to chinese systems. But can use saab awacs. India have better platforms.Poor network.

The focus should never have been on perfecting HAL Tejas. The focus should always have been Astra and other modulated aesa radars (was an issue noted with mk1 which should be resolved). Hal tejas mk1 we would be sitting on 150 of these limited but connected birds all linked to a ground-based radar system + 300km astra. 2010 to 2020 was wasted on IAF demands of a good platform and CAG reports who have poor understanding of military matters. You had issues such as endurance and low payload capacity. Tejas mk1 had 9 hard points which should have been armed to the teeth with astra and other  bvr missiles. They should have been used in a defensive posture with air defense system on the ground. Instead of mig21 interceptor chasing an f16 it should have been a tejas which could not be jammed. The IAF wanted "multirole".....

Based on the above, there seems to be "silo" thinking at the IAF. I would personally have settled for a limited Tejas  mk1 inducted in numbers for cheap and acknowledged its limitations (AESA radar aside)  and supplemented it with Netra Mk2 10 AWACS. In a cricket match you understand your batting is not the best you simply put in a player like Axar patel who can bat at 8. So you compensate with a longer batting lineup. As things stand the Uttam AESA radar will be retrofitted into Tejad Mk1 anyways.

https://idrw.org/tejas-mk1-set-for-radar-overhaul-iaf-eyes-upgrades-to-bridge-gap-with-mk1a-after-2028-peak-production/

local systems like Tejas have no issues integrating with French ammunition.

So its sort of fudged up that Mk1, despite all its flaws with an AESA radar and meteor will be far more deadly than it was forecast to be....

Time to resurrect Sanskrit as the language for all Hindus. Just like how jews did it for Hebrews. Let all the regional languages go to hell. Including the biggest one, hindi.

Full support.

Sanskrit should become the official language of the country. Local languages may continue to exist, but Sanskrit should supercede all of them, including English.

That's what I heard.

Apparently one Pooki checkpost was blown to pieces.

As usual, nothing from India's side coz we suck in IW. Pooks are quiet courtesy of internet shutdown.

No need to do north v south though.

I've always wondered why Sanskrit wasn't mandatory

It is the handiwork of missionary/mulla crowd and their secondary derivatives (so called "ambedkarite" Bhimtas). Ironically Ambedkar is quite a visionary in few aspects and he supported it as national language.

Even before independence we used Hindi though. So I guess it stuck

We have Farkhor as well.

Farkhor has been unoperational since long.

Ayni airbase was actually the one active where our engineers and even BRO worked on Runways and stuff... It was rumoured to host a few Su MkIs as well.

Russian and Chinese pressure apparently is the reason... Tajiks had to make sure we leave.
