Krunal isn't international material. IPL is just a domestic trophy.

He has 2 MOM in just a few matches playing for India. Check out his performances for India and his MOM to Matches played ratio is the highest. He was kicked out to accommodate the stars as always.

People thought the same about Axar as well and he was the one who made the difference in winning us tourneys. Krunal is very similar and we want such multi-dimensional players instead of specialist which Kohli preferred when he was the captain and the reason we struggled.

If he had played Krunal instead of that mental midget Chahal, we would've ended up with a tourney a lot earlier. That's why I prefer multi-dimensional players such as Axar, Pandyas, Parag, Abhishek etc. so we can lengthen batting lineup and have players who can contribute multiple ways.

He's international quality, not everyone in the xi is world beater

He has his utility,it's just he can be part of second or third xi

There are far worse players playing for top internatinal sides than him

calling parag and Abhishek multidimensional is fetching it too far. Parag isn't good enough even as a batsman. Abhishek's bowling is at best part time.

On bowling alone, he can make many international sides in t20 cricket.  He has become the second best left arm orthodox bowler, first being Daniel Vettori. Not big turners, just accuracy and variations of pace and flight to deceive the batsmen. Kind of guile and deception he has developed is amazing.

They're multi-dimensional in shorter formats. If likes of Maxwell, Head, Phillips, Bracewell etc. can bowl a few overs then so can Abhishek and Parag. In T20s these're the type pf players needed - ones who can score a quickfire 30s & 40s and bowl 2-3 overs.

This is why Axar was the missing piece which won us 2 tourneys. What good are the specialists who're anyways gonna fail in a Final and can't even bowl. With likes of Abhishek, Parag, Axar, Pandyas, they can add depth and also bowl overs so only 3 specialist bowlers are needed. That's the depth we need and the team we need to build - batting depth till 8 or 9 and batters who can bowl a bit.

What is 9 trophies? Are you counting two for the years that both of them played for MI?

No matter how you slice or dice it, it's a fact that Pandyas show up to be counted. This is the 2nd time Krunal is MOM in IPL Final. First time round he was the one who managed to keep MI in the match with his batting. And this time round he changed the match with the ball.

Most people struggle in big matches (e.g., Kohli who has always under-performed in big matches) and then there're a select few who raise their game (Pandyas, Axar, Raina). 9 trophies are testament to that.

My question is simply on how is it 9 trophies?

I'm assuming they're adding both the Pandya bros trophies so if they both won it at MI, it'll count as 2 for that year.

Google AI gave me this answer

AI Overview

The Pandya brothers, Hardik and Krunal, have a combined total of 9 IPL titles between them. Hardik has won 5 titles, four with Mumbai Indians and one with Gujarat Titans. Krunal has won 4 titles, three with Mumbai Indians and one with Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
