ravishingravi Posted October 5, 2025 Posted October 5, 2025 Amazed how much coverage this event is getting in international media. And how little domestically. RSS has always preferred to be in the shadows and not play front man. An amazing turn of events after being vilified for most of its existence, this org survived, thrived and is now the single most politically and socially important organization in India. This was a great interview with one of my favourites Gurumurthy reflecting on the journey.
kepler37b Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 RSS . My father used to print pamplets for them. I used to read all of them and that was my introduction to hindutva. There was one prachaarak, who used to travel in MH in bus, in hot summer, to thwart the attempts of conversion gangs. All he did it out of altruism. When the man passed away, 500 people attended the funeral. Including the local BJP MP I really want this chaotic land to be controlled and governed by RSS. On lines of CCP.
Gollum Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 (edited) May their vision of casteless society become a reality one day. My opinion about Savarkar changed when I read about how his views on social justice, unlike MK Gandhi who was a proponent of the varna system. Caste division is our biggest roadblock to progress, and also hampers national unity. Edited October 6, 2025 by Gollum

Thought he was against the evils of Caste based division too.

Everyone knew which community Harijan referred too.

But believed in varna system as prescribed in scriptures Ambedkar and Bose rejected the system entirely. Ambedkar even criticised Hinduism for it and burnt Manusmriti Mariyam 1

Caste division is our biggest roadblock to progress, and also hampers national unity. This is where they need to rein in BJP to not encourage caste reservations. Recently in MP moved court to increase OBC reservations and filed an affidavit which called Lord Ram a casteist. And then got a DMK lawyer to advocate on it
