Unnecessary criticism...yesterday's game was totally on the batters.

Bowlers tried their best...but in a 20 20 game where the RRR is even less than 6, you dont have much luxury.

Harshit has improved his seam position significantly at the point of release. They showed it on TV yesterday.

 

This would help him get more zip off the deck, bounce, seam movement and control.

He has been playing and been in the system for a year. I don’t see him progress as I expected plus I feel his fitness levels have not improved.

 

To call him 145 k pacer is bit too much.I don’t think he has ability to sustain speed.

CT is past at the moment Roko presence not helping the team can't take to two 38+ years old players to 2027 wc those two take Young players spot and Rana not even getting regular matches to play Without playing regularly how he going to improve

Who said you cannot take two 38 year olds.One is the greatest Odi player and another one is one of the ATG players to have played odi cricket. If they are fit , they are better than anyone in the country. They don't need to score another run in this series and still be first names on the paper in 2027.

 

 

Rana on other hand is taking place away from a guy Shami who might win world cup in 2027.Rana has done nothing to get long leash and be selected over guy like Shami.

Prasidh was trolled left and right before he and Siraj delivered the blow needed in the final day of England test.

 

Pacers need chances, not odd games here and there. In entire Asia Cup he played one game...If we dont do that then we wont be able to unearth new young pacers.

I'm all for this, but potential young talents should be give 1 or max 2 formats to play, learn and develop their game. Can't understand why Gambhir forces Harshit into becoming an all format player so early in his career when he doesn't even have a secure place in 1 format.

 

Tilak and Abhishek are perfect examples of how a player secures a place in the XI in one format, and are potentially looking to expand to a second format now.

Can some1 give the names of other 5 fast bowlers who can make into Ind side. Bhurah, Siraj... Who is next. Ind does not even have 3rd bowler.

No one is ready out of box, every1 will require some development cycles, Need to pick bowlers who atleast have some basic ingredients to be worked upon.

 

Selecting LA/RA nothing kind of bowlers are not going to get Ind anywhere, they have been doing it for last 3-4 years where are they now:: Avesh, mukesh, khaeel, Undakat,etc??

BCCI and selectors don't think in that way. This ritual predates Gambhir.

They miraculously selected Shri Mukesh Kumar as an all format bowler, despite his domestic numbers clearly showing that he struggles in white ball. In comparison Akashdeep, who has balanced numbers in all 3 domestic formats was type casted as a Test only bowler. Why ? just because Mukesh Kumar ji landed some yorkers in some random IPL game. That's why even Bhuvi Kumar has played more ODI's than Shami, just coz he can bowl some yorkers and some gimmicky slower ones, which Shami can't.

Thing is Harshit isn't a problem, rather he is part of solution. Problem is the myopic selectors who never looked beyond Shami, Bumrah, Ishant and Umesh. They got lucky with Siraj due to Australia tour and injury issues of the above 4 pacers. Now, they're stuck with Bumrah, Siraj and rotating the third pacer in Akashdeep, Prasidh coz they don't know who can replace whom and where. Harshit was thrown directly in Australia and then after one poor outing was dropped entirely from Tests, where the heck is the planning.

Nobody is denying that  Rana should get chances but at this moment he is getting at the cost of guy like Shami which is the problem.

 

Second my point was in reply to Roko getting chances unfairly over some deserving candidates. and Rana was being scapegoated for Roko's failures.

 

Roko have earned every chance they are getting now , Rohit was given chance early in his career as he showed promise. 

 

Rana does not belong in that class of Rohit. let us cool down on Pradish train, let him do it more than once before hopping on it.He was dropped in England itself.Injuries and impotence of other bowlers earned him the recall in 5th test.

 

Rana can get chances in other formats , nobody is stopping him.Shami is not in picture in t20s.

 

Shami is on his last legs, he should have toured England  too when he said he was ready.Instead of maximizing Shami, these idiots are subjecting him to unnecessary nonsense.If he gets injured again so be it, he is ready  to deal with his injuries.

Now Shami is on his last legs, so there is no harm in trying Harshit in ODIs and Tests. Last when Shami played under cameras in a domestic match, he was barely able to place the ball and was going on and off the field every now and then.

Comparison b/w Prasidh and Rohit is just indicative. Rohit showed potential by few beautiful shots, but more often that not he was prone to get out cheaply (hence was trolled with name "maggie"), similarly Prasidh too has shown ability to bowl some match winning spells in his short career. Where they end up is a diff matter as Rohit started very early (at 19-20) while Prasidh got chance only when he was 27-28, plus Indian cricket is more favourable to batters in comparison to bowlers.

We are in transition era, Bumrah & Siraj both will be 32 in a span for 4-5 months...Shami is already 35 (maybe more). Bumrah may not play tests post WTC 2027, Siraj will remain inconsistent. Where are the next in line pacers ?

I agree Rana doesn’t deserve to be bullied.

 

Shami was in the squad  under Kohli and co here he is not even getting selected in the squad.

 

Indian team plays so much cricket that every deserving candidate will get their chances to prove themselves. Rana has played all three formats.

 

But these idiots are selecting someone like Kambhoj that is the issue.

He in Australia Shami if he was in squad then he could have played two matches and guy like Rana one or vice versa.

 

Personally I don’t think Rana is going to be good , I would be happy to be proven wrong.

 

Prasidh was not better than Ishant, Umesh , Shami , Siraj or Bumrah that is why he did not get chance while they were playing and it was correct decision.
 

He was short listed and given a chance even with all red flags .He played so few first class matches .
