Texy Posted October 19, 2025 Posted October 19, 2025 (edited) Zero wickets on a bowling-friendly Perth pitch? deserves his place in XI? Edited October 19, 2025 by Texy

He seems to have regressed over the last couple of years. He looked so good in 2024 when KKR won IPL. He had pace, bowled good line & length and also varied his pace intelligently. Now he's looking like a mediocre pacer. We need someone like Bharat Arun to take him under his wings and guide him. We can't afford to lose our upcoming pacers. tapandrun 1

That is better than the absolute tail the others are. Shami/Akash Deep have managed to win/save a few matches with the bat with limited ability. Shami Lord's 2021. Akashdeep Gabba 2024 and Oval 2025. Also looking to develop like I said. Young, is tall, has pace, can bat a bit. Unlike batting, India doesn't have legions of great fast bowlers. Very much a work in progress (like Ishant was for a long time). singhvivek141 and Manucrick 2
Nikhil_cric Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 Harshit had nothing to do with yesterday's loss. Can't do anything when batting is so mediocre. Lone Wolf, Manucrick, singhvivek141 and 1 other 4
express bowling Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 (edited) We need to give our young players with potential lots of games on the trot before judging them. Abhishek and Tilak are doing well after they have become regulars and are not judged based on every game. Harshit is the only sub-25 years fit 145 k pacer we have got. Tall and bouncy too. Need to develop him by giving him actual game time in ODIs and FC. Edited October 20, 2025 by express bowling bouncers, Lone Wolf and Manucrick 3
Texy Posted October 20, 2025 Author Posted October 20, 2025 we seem to have pleny of batting backup but hardly any bowling bench strength? especially fast bowling? What is Morne Morkel there for? other than easy retirement fund
Cricketics Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 Score some runs and give bowlers runs to defend and they will do fine. express bowling 1

Lone Wolf Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 India needs to find a way to play Gurnoor Brar in ODIs as well. I feel he is more accurate than Rana as of now. Although we need to see more of him. India doesn't has many Pacers ready in the pipeline. So we have to groom a bunch of them singhvivek141 1
ShoonyaSifar Posted October 20, 2025 Posted October 20, 2025 Bowled quite decently, top speed was 142 kmph, plenty of deliveries in 139-142 range. Had pace and zip off the surface everytime he bowled at the office stump line or at batsmen's body. His second over was absolutely top class. Being inexperienced, did bowl a few hit me balls and was punished. Like his aggression as well, something to say to the batsmen, not backing away from a fight. Thoroughly deserved to be backed as an X factor in the bowling unit. Only one who can hit the deck hard, could become a middle over enforced for us if groomed well. Bowled lots of 144 k to 147 k balls in his last T20I. Fastest of 148.8 k. More importantly, he has crossed 145 k in every prominent red ball match he has played in the last 2 years. Peak speeds come only when a pacer has the required match practice and hence rhythm to bowl flat out fast. Give him a permanent spot and he will go up to 145 k every match and 148 k to 150 k in some matches. He actually crossed 151 k in his debut T20I. Although we will see the Bumrah effect like the Vishy effect in a decade or so. Many kids must have picked up fast bowling and the talented ones will emerge a decade or so later. express bowling 1

I first saw Siraj in some game against New Zealand. There was so much hype before his debut. He was hammered and then got hammered and hammered. Give him some time. Harshit will develop.

Another factor is that we are very poor when it comes to managing genuinely quick pacers or even genuinely bouncy pacers. Mayank Yadav, Kartik Tyagi, Umran Malik, Kuldeep Sen, Shivam Mavi, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Avesh Khan .... we have managed to mismanage or even permanently lose all of them. We must make all our quick or bouncy pacers play entire Ranji seasons to prepare their bodies for the rigours of fast bowling and improve their skills too. If their original State teams don't want them then the BCCI must advice them to change their state teams. And the NCA rehab wing functioning must be reviewed. It is really bad at what it does. A slightly injured pacer becomes chronically injured after a visit to the NCA. Edited October 20, 2025 by express bowling singhvivek141 and Manucrick 1 1
