They have seriously turned the corner. WT20 final. woman's team in T20 final. Test final. Now this one.   THey definitely have a system that they can be proud of.

Yeah 23 Eden SF was the match of the tournament for me. Difference was fielding, Aussies took many stunners and saved sure shot boundaries, RSA kept dropping catches. Even Bavuma's captaincy (especially rotation of spinners) was pathetic that night. 

 

Head MOTM. First dismissed the dangerous, well set Klaasen against the run of play. Then his opening blitz of a knock, quickfire 60+. Quite a resume he has, WC SF and F MOTM, WTC F MOTM.

Congratz South Africa.  Poor guys had heart break in 2024 final then in the women's world cup final against us. Something to smile about now.

They showed a lot of character after they were down and out.

They are doing something right with their cricket. What a comeback story since 2022, in all formats, men/women. 

 

Back them to defend their WTC mace in Lord's, 2027.

Will only get better with  money getting poured into their system thanks to exciting and successful SA20

Even SA A beat almost INdia A comprehensively. They have proven they can come back from any position in Tests. Opposite of what they do in LOIs where they go from commanding position to losing position.

Their batsmen have batted more sensibly.

 

Spinners have outbowled ours including Kuldeep

 

Jansen has outbowled Bumrah

 

Dropped no/less catches

Same Aussie fielding won them the final too. Stopped so many boundaries and made difference of atleast 30 runs.

 

While we still treat it as afterthought
