Not really. Gone :phehe:

Win-win for me. If Root had scored big, I could have annoyed @Laaloo more, happy with him gone because I want Poms to get humiliated.

Fker had a catch just a bit short when he was on 6 but his luck runs out. Came to the crease and only faced starc for two balls before he was taken off and then he scored some easy runs against lyon and boland before Cummins made him his bitch again.

You followed his entire innings, kya :hysterical:

It must be well past midnight and beginning of weekend where you are.

If it weren't for average bowling attacks, Root wouldn't have crossed 8000 imo.

Has done really well against the greatest Indian and NZ attacks of all time, that too away from home.

It was Cummins who saved Hayden's honour and not Root.

Hazlewood also missing. Full strength Aussie attack hota toh Root wouldn't have scored 250 runs this series.

Not everyone is Yashwasvi Jaiswal who can walk in at the age of 22, first time in Aus and own their full strength attack on these pitches, that too as opener:hatsoff:

Shows you cannot fluke Test wins in Australia. ENgland has lost 15 out of 17 or something.

If you take for the last 35 years(except the 2010 win) england lost 3 - 0 in 1991,

3-1 in 1995

3-1 in 1999

4-1 in 2002

4-0 in 2017 and 21

5-0 in 2006, 2013

Atleast in the 1990s and early 2000s England managed to win one test match.

Nah just followed here and there.

Hate Brook more than anyone else in their lineup. So smug and condescending towards his opponents and fans, always making excuses.

Ran away from the Bumrah/Ashwin/Jadeja/Kuldeep challenge and flopping hard in Aus. Scored most of his runs and 100s on Pak highways.

Mental block for some teams in Aus is something.

Pak are on a mega losing streak there (0-17 or 0-18?), NZ also has won just 1 test (2011 Hobart) there in the last 40 years.

Only RSA and India keep challenging Aussies there. At least with RSA, conditions are similar and Aus also do very well in RSA. Indian teams should get more appreciation for what they have achieved in Aus, after being so hopeless in the 90s.

I think for many ICFers like me, 1999-00 Aus tour was the initiation to test cricket. I remember the 1st test there (Adelaide) where they were 4/40 when I left for school, and when I came back, senior Waugh scored 150, Ponting 125. In response, Sachin scored a smooth 60 odd before being wrongly given out (bat-pad catch, Warne the bowler). Whole tour was a nightmare. But Sachin showed his greatness, and VVS 167 wow.

That is why 20-21 BGT will always be my happiest memory as an Indian fan. We may win a gazillion more WCs, don't care, nothing can top what our depleted team did that tour. And that Australia was much stronger than present version, bowling quartet at its peak, better batting and Smith used to average in mid 60s back then.

I still don't know how Pak lost that 1999 Hobart test lol. I had woken up in the morning to watch that before school and seen Gilly  and Langer had won them the game. There are fixing rumours around that test along with the '99 WC final ofc.

Don't remind me of the 1999/2000 series when we went there. We got so many **** decisions with that *nor lbw decision taking the cake. As if it wasn't hard enough having to play that Aussie team lol.

Very depressing time for any Indian cricket fan. Even the tri-series down under was a painful watch (we won 1/8 matches), then Pooks demolished us in Sharjah and then in India, some Pepsi trophy or something like that. 2000 Asia Cup, RSA whitewashing us at home, 59 all out vs Lanka, Jayasuriya 189, fixing saga blowing up.

2001 Eden test revived Indian cricket again. Then 2002 Eng tour, CT and we entered a fun era.

We were only strong in home tests. Turnaround started under Wright in the 2000 CT.

Pooks and Lankans used to beat us regularly in bilateral odis until 2004.
