It's not just that. In my case, it is grudging respect. As much as I hate to see them win against us or other opposition, I find their clutchness admirable.

Individual competitive nature is setting them apart. IF they are losing a crucial game it probably means they had a bad fielding day. When their fielding standard is high they invariably win. That is where they derive energy from.

Their sporting system/culture is rest of the world's envy, P4P the greatest sporting country of all time. There isn't one sport where they won't compete well. I was stunned to see them winning medals even in Winter Olympics last time, Australia is the last place I imagine where there will be snow and ice.

They play very good percentage cricket. They were all out of form sometime back. After heavy domestic season they have found some form.

They never make excuses even if some of their main guys miss out. 

 

We won in 2018 over there when Smith and Warner were serving bans. But Aussies (players, fans, ex-players, experts) never undermined our achievement....all the jealousy, bitterness, undermining came from Pooks and Poms. Same with the 2003-04 BGT, McGrath and Warne missed the entire series, we drew, and Aussies had nothing but respect/admiration for our players, especially Dravid and VVS.

They picked Weatherald because he performed in the 'A' games. We should do the same

Just saw the Jaiswal's 161 at Perth. He played a lot of cut shots which had certain level of risk.  Teams have stopped giving him room. They bring the ball back in coming wide off the crease. HE sees width from the hand. But there is none when it gets to him.         He has to find a way to overcome this strategy.

I think they should have played Tongue. He was the one who got rid of Warner and Smith in both innings in the last Ashes. He is rapid. He can bowl a lot of crap balls suddenly bowl a peach.

India recently had this 10-man syndrome. Just coined this phrase. Basically we lose a player mid way through.  Bumrah at the SCG. Pant atleast twice half effective in England in a co uple of tests. Now Subhman GIll against SA.  Then we lose toss. Lot of things go against us.
