Insecurity under Gautam Gambhir's reign

 Mohammed Kaif has claimed that insecurity over the playing spots has stalled the progress of the Test batters from India, especially under home conditions.

 

Mohammed Kaif has cited that the current Indian management shows a lack of support for batters like Sarfaraz Khan, who has constantly been sidelined from the national radar by the National selectors.

 

Whichever players are playing, they don’t have a feeling that someone is standing for them. Koi backing nahi hai, sab darr ke khel rahe hain. (There is no backing; everyone is playing with fear.) Sab dar ke khel rahe hain, koi khul ke nahi khel raha (Everyone is playing in fear, nobody is playing with freedom).

“If Sarfaraz Khan’s place is not confirmed after 100 scoring a hundred. Even after scoring 100, he’s not able to make a comeback. Sai Sudharsan scored 87. He won’t play the next Test match. I think there is a lot of confusion in this team,” he added.

 

Mohammed Kaif said that with several positions under scrutiny, batters could find themselves in a major fix when the management opts to play on pitches that turn and bounce unconventionally. Gautam Gambhir asked for such a track from CAB.

You can’t keep players on pins and needles, as coach you should ease players problems not compound them.

 

All this guy has done is make everyone uncomfortable. Who pushed for Rohit’s exit as Odi captain making both Rohit and Gill uneasy. Was there any need for it.

As Gill is the next Prince ,the players are selected such that they dont overshadow the Prince ,hence Sai,Paddikal, Reddy, Jurel ,Rahul are selected

Gambhir ' tactics is shattered in this test.All the bowlers have bowled more than 25 overs ,but Reddy has bowled only 4 overs.

Absolutely agree. Sai had a good last test Vs WI but still dropped. Sundar probably won't come out at no 3. No consistency

The report further stated that Gambhir’s communication is not as effective as it was with the former coach Dravid. The veteran is also being compared with the former India cricketer and coach Ravi Shastri who had his own ways of conducting the team. It is worth noting that Gambhir’s appointment raised eyebrows as he had no prior coaching experience apart from his time with the KKR at the IPL.

It is also reported that the 43-year-old’s way of keeping the players in dark over their exclusion has not gone down well within the team.  Rohit Sharma allegedly insisted on speaking personally with the player over their inclusion on exclusion in the team. But ever since Gambhir has joined the camp, the players are unaware about the decisions taken concerning them. 

 

With the criticism at its peak the players are questioning over the communication aspects within the team and the unrest has arose withing the dressing room.

Gambo was not much of a test cricketer and the rest results prove that.

Washi was not played at no. 4 for this very reason. Why the fk did he demote him to 8 after that performance? Gambhir's actions defy logic ffs.

Gambhir has influenced selection in such a way that no personality players ie Sundar,Sai,Paddikal,Akashdeep,Prasidh,Mukesh,Khaleel,Arshdeep,Reddy, are selected and those who are having flair,aggression, ie  Sarfaraz, Parag are thrown out of the team.

 

If a team us down it needs rebellious characters to pull it out and I doubt Said,Paddikal has that attitude .

First change coach and if things don’t improve change players.

We need Chandrakant Pandit types of coach ,who has grinded through Ranji teams.
