Frustrated Posted November 25, 2025 Posted November 25, 2025 Strictly NO. Fraudeja is done. Expiry date is gone. Washi is at best a support spinner who can contain the runs to some extent. On sporting wickets, he will take a wicket every 30 overs. Implies impactless/useless bowling.
maniac Posted November 25, 2025 Posted November 25, 2025 Jadeja and Axar are 3rd spinners at best. Washington is a 4th spinner at best. Maybe a little harsh on Jadeja now but with experience, performances and confidence hecan be called a 2nd spinner .when he has good spinners like Ashwin and Kuldeep on the other end, he becomes even more effective. However if his support is Sundar/Axar , his effectiveness further goes down.

If he does, others can come into play. Spinners bowl in pairs maniac 1

Generally in England Australia he was given a ball after 70 overs 50 overs or so. It is the captaincy issue i must say. Rahane used him wisely in his debut test. He picked up three wickets. HE did not treat him like a part timer. He was treated like Ashwin's replacement. So he was given enough overs.

kosingh Posted November 25, 2025 Posted November 25, 2025 Feel bad for Jadeja because he has been one my favorite cricketers ever. But damn....his time has come. Retire, dude.

Retire, dude. Indian batting has to sort itself first. They are still relying on tail bailing out. Remember India 211/6 at Edbgaston. Gill/Jadeja/Sundar added 344 for 7th and 8th wicket. That is how we won. Until we stop relying on lower order Jadeja will continue playing. Jaiswal, Kela, Gill, Pant are the regulars. These 4 plus the other 2 specialists have to consistently rack up big scores. Batsmen are the biggest worry for India. On a itch where Muthuswaym , jansen, Southee bat with ease our top order is struggling.

Jadeja is fine as third spinner, Sundar is not first or second spinner, he is like 4th spinner who bats a bit that is definition of bits and pieces player. If you put Jadeja and Sundar together along with Kuldeep you have recipe for disaster which we saw in this match. How can a guy like Sundar call himself offspinner and have one lousy wicket on these pitches.Harmer on other hand has turned the series around with ball.It is not like he is being Bradman with bat. vvvslaxman Posted November 25, 2025 Posted November 25, 2025 IN which world Jaddu is better than Sundar lol

Basically impactless). Even a 37 yr old washed up Jaddu has 5 times more wickets in this series than Washi. Edited November 26, 2025 by Frustrated

He did well in England and also NZ series

Pant missed the opportunity. In England Jadeja looked toothless yet SUndar was not brought on before 72nd over. Yet SUndar outperformed him. Lord 1

NOne of these bowlers are real test class bowlers except may be Ajaz. Even Maharaja had his struggles. With 7 left handers we struggled against an off spinner. May be it is our batsmen that suck. NObody thinks about that. lol cricspirit 1
putrevus Posted November 26, 2025 Posted November 26, 2025 Harmer is looking like Murali and winning the series for them while our off spinner has taken one wicket. When did this guy Sundar make his first class debut and test debut.
BCCISelector Posted November 26, 2025 Posted November 26, 2025 Washi can develop into a decent Test cricketer if the team management gives him clarity on his role. One game he's a specialist batter at #3 who is not given the ball. The very next game he's asked to take wickets and bat at #8. He outperformed Ashwin with the ball during the NZ series and was decent in England too, so he has mostly punched above his weight as a 5th bowler. Lord 1
putrevus Posted November 26, 2025 Posted November 26, 2025 (edited) Sundar needs a caddie to take his load as spinner, Reddy scored 100 in Melbourne too, does it make him great batsman He out performed most Indian batsmen there. One swallow does not make a summer, him taking those wickets on Bunsen burner does not make Sundar even decent spinner. Axar out bowled Ashwin in his debut series against England in 2021 and also scored runs . Nobody is calling Axar a great bowler. He has won matches with ball and bat more than Sundar. How can you take one wicket on this pitch when other off spinner is tearing up. It is not his fault that he has been moved around but what is he, he is not top five batsman for sure, he is number 4 spinner. Edited November 26, 2025 by putrevus

He has scored more MVP runs in SENA than some of our esteemed retired "legends" since his debut.
