The aam admi himself is not intereted in a solution with communal benefit. He often wants something that can benefit him alone.

I wouldn’t put Ayurveda in the same bracket as quackery like Unani or Homeopathy . Surgery and Indian medicine was there in India even before Allopathy. A lot of bad press on Ayurveda is basically from big pharma. India needs to invest on scientific research of Ayurvedic medicine. I am living proof of its use. idea is It should not be replaced by Allopathy , but used as supplemental to it. Go with renowned practitioners and not your Patanjali type quacks. I have never used any Of their products singhvivek141 and randomGuy 1 1

Went to Patanjali ashram for 2 months...followed their strict diet, lost quite a lot of weight and post coming back he is down to just one ayurbedic medicine per day and one glass of karela juice a week. Sugar levels oscillate in pre-diabetes range, he is happy now that he needn't carry medicines where ever he goes to. coffee_rules 1

Ministers who promote AYUSH ultimately send their near and dear ones for allopathy treatment or abroad when **** hits the fan. But they keep fooling gullible Indians claiming miracle benefits, did the same during covid crisis. Lord 1

Bro, personal anecdotes shouldn't get precedence over published medical research literature. I am glad that your brother is in a better state of health now. But don't you think his turnaround came because of a disciplined lifestyle, less stress (better sleep quality?), dietary habits, and physical activities during his stay in the ashram? 2 months of good habits can go a long way in healing your body. Gollum Posted December 25, 2025 Author Posted December 25, 2025 (edited) AYUSH budget this year s 4000 cr. Have seen some Siddha quacks selling heavy metals based pills as medical cures to my relatives. As part of my research I was fabricating a material to reduce Arsenic contamination in groundwater in eastern parts of India (esp. Bengal where it is the largest mass poisoning in the world), and here some of my own (well educated) relatives were consuming Arsenic laden garbage, so infuriating. This much money blown on fraud, unacceptable for a country like India which invests close to nothing in medical research. We sure do have our priorities messed up. In a way, yes. He till date acknowledges that in Patanjali, his habits were pushed away and change was forced. He started consuming bottle gourd and bitter gourd which he never touched in his whole life, but there he had no choice coz thats the food he was given, plus daily yoga. But IMO thats what Ayurveda is...improving your life in totality instead of just focusing on one issue. Even in case of neurodiverse kids, Ayurvedic therapies have had much larger impact than allopathy like STEM Cell surgeries.

One of the guys I know takes shirodhara ayurvedic treatment from Patanjali for schizophrenia.... obviously I can't vouch for the usefulness in any particular condition...After reading this thread i Googled about it... there's mud therapy, ayurvedic diets etc. In particular, the bhasams are known to contain heavy metals. singhvivek141 1

Bhasams, shilajit they all have heavy metals and minerals which helps improving the health. However, a little heavier dose and your kidney may give up as well. So one needs to have utmost care while consuming those. Kerala me, ayurvedic oil therapy is pretty common. Many have tried that and they find it pretty relaxing and refreshing. My neighbour uncle who is a retd Banker goes to Kerala every 6 months for a week just to get this oil therapy and this helps a lot in his arthritis. randomGuy 1

P@tanjali is blatantly into adulteration.. people buying those products are certified ret@rds at this point. They deserve Gulag treatment in all fairness but FSS@I takes the cake when it comes to sheer ineptness. Adulteration is at its peak in India. Nothing is safe to eat anymore. Gollum 1

coffee_rules Posted December 25, 2025 Posted December 25, 2025 There are dumb people everywhere who blindly take alternative medicine without proper advice. Even people dying of taking Ayurvedic meds only has anecdotal evidence, it is not like all people taking Ayurvedic medicine are dying left and right to make a generalized statement. That is proper research for sam Ayurvedic medicines that gets published in scientific journals even western methods sometimes suggest holistic healing to supplement the healing process from surgeries. Meditation, mindful meditation,, vipassana R encouraged for a complete healing process. Should be the people believing in the medicine that depends on this reality. India should regulate any alternate medicine sold in the market with proper research hopefully Ayurveda is regulated and researched in the scientific way by the mini

The knowledge of different types of foods to eat for your profession/lifestyle is recorded in Indian medicine (Ayurveda) by rishi Patanjali for more than 2000 years. Satvic, Tamasic, Rajasic is not just food categories, but lifestyle that suits your metabolism. These ideas came to mankind from Ayurveda Lord 1
