Was the man of the series and played the most crucial role in t20 world cup 2024 final, but but but suspect under pressure.

Averages 21 in 4th innings, but but but cannot bowl in 4th innings.

Sure buddy. Your lies about bumrah get more hilarious every time.

And he has the combo of all

SR of Steyn

Avg of Marshall

Economy of McG

Variations of Akram

That too in an era where the bats are size of trunk of a tree, heavily compressed and even a slight touch will travel the ball away to the boundary.

Sadly, he is still under appreciated and Asterix are being raised on his ability. If we dig deep, every fast bowler in history will have their moments where they failed to setup up. But Bumrah is scrutinized unfairly.

Shane Bond and Ryan Harris were two guys with GOAT potential. Bumrah has had his share of injuries, but thankfully not as unlucky as those two beasts.

Pattinson is another guy but he would have been max Hazlewood level.

For me, McGrath is #1 because of how he always stepped up in big matches, and his record against the best batsmen of his era. Longevity is also a thing, it is one thing to average 21 but he did it over a span of 124 tests which is nuts.

Bumrah also needs a few defining performances in WTC finals, WC SF/F etc. Or a prominent role in a marquee series win, the series coming up in NZ later this year is a good opportunity for him, since NZ has been his nemesis.

What we sometime tend to forget is that Mcgrath was part of a 'GOAT' team. Gillespie/ Lee to bowl alongside him, Warne to bowl after him. All of that combined with a supercharged, super aggressive, and ultra moral-less team abusing at will on the opponents mothers, wives and girlfriends.

It doesn't take away the greatness of Mcgrath.

However, when Bumrah had Shami and Ishant bowling alongside, he easily did it way better than Mcgrath without the drama and histrionics of Mcgrath. For me, Mcgrath doesn't count over Bumrah anyday, anytime, anywhere!

And trust me, I have watched almost all matches of Mcgrath live right from 90's.

Steyn 93 matches and 439 wickets is also there in contention.

Prior to Bumrah, becoming Bumrah, Steyn would be my all time greatest fast bowler.

Its just couple of our home grown losers, outside India he is pretty much universally admired

Its very similar to how some jealous Indians used to attack Sachin, and slice and dice things to put him down because they were bitter fans of other batsmen like Dravid. And outside India and Pakistan Sachin was universally praised.

Dont forget the captaincy and mere presence of players like Steve Waugh and Ponting and their field placement etc used to intimidate opposition batsmen.

Agree with this, allegiance to a 'star' trumps allegiance to the team for some of these people

He won in a literal world cup. How many players have won world cups, let alone been man of the series in one? Most players have never even won a world cup

The fact that you pretend world cups are a dims a dozen shows the lack of honesty

He is so important across formats. I nearly had a heart attack last match when he was feeling his calf. Maybe it was nothing but enough to give us sleepless nights thinking about Harshit bowling to QDK Miller Brook Buttler Stoinis et al with a dewy ball like a bar of lifebuoy soap.

Bumrah has played 2019, 2023 50 over world cups, 2016, 2021 world t20s without much impact, 2017 CT, 2021 WTC. Shami outbowled Bumrah in both 50 over world cups, the one match Shami was off color India lost. Our genius could not pick one wicket in most bowler friendly WTC finals.

Has any ATG bowler had so little impact on so many tournaments  and knockouts.

He showed up in 2024 world t20 Bravo.

Sam Curran won MOS in 2022 world cup, does he become a great bowler.

I said Bumrah is greatest Indian fast bowler. No he is not in top 10 ATG bowlers yet nor does he do well under pressure.
