Batting becomes so much easier under lights later in the night that the team batting first starts with a huge disadvantage and has to hope that they play out of their skins and the side batting second have a bad day. In the final when the team are evenly matched, it's gonna be a miracle for team batting first win. It'll be a repeat of 2023 ODI WC final with whoever winning the toss and batting 2nd, winning the cup. When there are 20 teams in a tournament when only 5-6 teams play sports in proper sense this is what you get . Most of the teams here in the wc are those where the players playing are just playing it as a weekend hobby.

IMO they could've split the teams in 2 groups of 7 or 8 teams each and then straight away went to SFs. This would've made every single match meaningful so we don't go through a meaningless group stage and then went to Super 8s.

Netherland, Scotland and USA have been the 3 best associates by far. Nepal flattered to decieve after a brilliant first game. Oman, Canada, UAE, Namibia and Italy have been below average/poor. rollingstoned 1
