Kuch minute to guzariye Friday Saturday shaam traffic mein.

Not to absolve India or desis in general, but a lot of what is in here should be in a thread called "Sad state of the world." There are a couple of things here and there that are unique to desis (sadly, the killing of the tennis coach girl because of samaaj and ijjat is one), but otherwise it's mostly just universal human behavior. Just exacerbated by population density.

The thing unique to India is the lack of civic sense and the self centered jantaa. No other society has this in this quantity.

While this is true, we also have a stronger sense of familial unity, societal fabric and desire to improve ourselves by working hard (and game the system as well but let's leave this aside for a moment). Most of the Western world does not have any of this.

So Govt owes 1.21 lakh crores to hospitals in medical bills. The  health care system in India will be brought to it's knees. As India ages, this is going to get much more tougher.

 

Ever wondered why medical inflation is around 15% per year? The hospitals are being forced to recover this amount from paying customers.

What you said does not sit well with the reality  on the ground. Every other self professed "Backward" group wants a handout or reservation.  

 

I agree  on familial unity though.

Reservation is just gaming the system, our people will always do that. It hasn't stopped them from wanting to improve themselves.

In a move that has set legal circles in Tamil Nadu abuzz, Justice G R Swaminathan of the Madras High Court’s Madurai Bench issued a contempt warning and lashed out at Advocate S Vanchinathan — while presiding over a case in which Justice Swaminathan was the subject of a complaint sent by the same lawyer to the Chief Justice of India, alleging caste bias and ideological misconduct.

The July 24 hearing, part of a routine writ appeal, took a turn when Justice Swaminathan, seated alongside Justice K Rajasekar, summoned Vanchinathan to appear in person. The summons was not related to the appeal in question, but to confront the lawyer about a detailed representation he had submitted to the CJI, calling for an inquiry into what he alleged was caste-based favouritism and ideological partisanship in Justice Swaminathan’s courtroom conduct.

According to multiple accounts, the courtroom atmosphere was tense. According to those present, the judge questioned Vanchinathan on whether he stood by his allegations. When the advocate requested a written order before responding, Justice Swaminathan reportedly made a critical remark about him in open court.

Chennai:

A 23-year-old Dalit techie from Chennai was murdered allegedly by his girlfriend's brother in Tirunelveli district, Tamil Nadu. The victim, Kavin Selvaganesh, was reportedly targeted for being in an inter-caste relationship with a woman from a different community.

The accused, identified as Surjith Saravanan, is the son of a police officer couple. According to police sources, Surjith was opposed to his sister's relationship with Kavin and allegedly lured him on the pretext of a conversation before killing him.

 

Kavin had travelled to Tirunelveli to visit his ailing grandfather, who was undergoing treatment at a Siddha centre, where his girlfriend also worked as a doctor. CCTV footage accessed by the police reportedly shows Surjith taking Kavin on his motorbike from outside the centre, moments before allegedly killing him.

Surjith has surrendered. Arresting him, police have filed a case of murder and have invoked provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, given the caste angle involved

 

The police have also registered a case against Surjith's parents, both of whom are serving police officers, amid allegations of complicity or shielding. The main accused has surrendered.

A police officer told NDTV, "Surjith says he didn't approve the relationship and despite his warning, Kavin was in touch with her. Further investigation is underway".

Tensions flared in the area after the incident. Locals and Kavin's relatives blocked the main road, demanding the immediate arrest of the accused and his parents. Protesters accused the police of inaction and bias, given the suspect's influential background.

 

The police have assured that the cop couple will be arrested within 24 hours. However, Kavin's grieving family is yet to receive his body, further escalating the emotional and social fallout.

Murdering maniac's parents should get the same punishment as him. I would even strip whatever properties they have and give it to the deceased families.

How many people in India work hard?

 

Even the Dalai Lama said the difference between Indians and Chinese is that Indians are lazy.

 

Getting things done in India is a slow process unless you bribe.

 

Why can't Indians just stop littering everywhere? 

 

25% of the country can't even read or write. There has been no movement to eradicate illiteratacy, poverty and pollution.
