Bigg Brother Posted April 18 Posted April 18 He is playing since RPSG days. Strictly test player. Can be our MVP in tests like Ash if solely focus on that. maniac 1
putrevus Posted April 18 Posted April 18 No he is not even a test player, his bowling stinks, Ashwin was main bowler in all formats for his teams.

Sundar should not bat in top 6 atleast. If Gujarat do not have a better T20 specialist bat than Sundar in top 6 then they should review their auction strategy. He deserves a spot only if he bowls. He doesn't get into any team as a pure batter when batters like Urvil Patel are warming the bench. He gets into a team if he bats at 8 or 9 and bowls 3 overs every match. He's not a no. 4 batter and is the worst no. 4 in all of the IPL. In fact even Indian domestic teams have better no. 4 batters. cricspirit 1
Sooda Posted May 12 Posted May 12 (edited) On a good run of scores, could be a good no 5 for a second string team say Vs Afghanistan in ODIs; certainly his hitting has really improved over the years I don't know if he merits a spot in second string T20I team Edited May 12 by Sooda

Gt is low powered t20 side, they are allowed to play at their own pace and hit few here and there and all depends on getting to just par scores and high performing bowling unit bowling full tilt. His bowling is nowhere near a test class bowler, and white-ball specialist off spin is obsolete , he can be force multiplier in test if Ind is able to find few test level bowlers and he is used as some1 fill the gaps bowl 5/6 overs give rest to full-time bowers and be a transition batters before the bowlers come to bat. Thats where Jaddu and Ashwin were good in Ind conditions, they can be that transition batter bt also they were top test bowlers Edited May 12 by tapandrun putrevus 1

I was thinking that for a series like Vs Afghanistan we should or can try out different options. I think he could be a good ODI AR although I do think Parag is a better candidate -for all his IPL struggles it's easy to forget he was man of the series in the list A series Vs Aus A few months ago Ive said elsewhere Saransh Jain should be in the test squad instead. Sundar isn't good enough with the ball Manucrick 1
vvvslaxman Posted May 13 Posted May 13 INdia's spin all rounders are always weak. Sundar is no different. Strike rate/ Balls/6 ratio shows that Axar 133.96/ 18.7 Jadeja 127.16/28.9 Sundar 132.5/14.2 Ashwin 115/40 Nobody is above 140. Jadeja hits a six once every 29 ball. That is appalling for a "finisher"

In the finals , Nz dropped McChochie because they had Phillips to bowl few over of off-spin to Abhishek. Top teams needs off-spin frm some1 who can just roll their arm and be a proper batter. And McChochie was replacement to Bracewell who is kind of finisher for Nz and and bowls off-spin. McChochie was also able to hit few 4/6 at the later part of the innings. And even the games where he played he only bowled couple of overs, think there was a game where he bowled just 1 over even after taking the wkt showing teams does not need specialist off-spinner Here is the complete list of bowlers who dismissed Abhishek Sharma alongside their corresponding match details during the wc. He doesn't bowl anymore and plays as a specialist batter. And he isn't good enough for that. Unless he bowls 2-3 overs at least he doesn't deserve a spot in the team. crictime and tapandrun 2

Should be kicked out of the Indian setup and he can continue playing for GT in IPL. Edited May 16 by Ultimate_Game tapandrun, cricspirit and crictime 3
