Have to play the probabilities. Aus attacks never have this sott of bowler we have hard on for for a reason. We can't ask for batting depth and keep horses for courses who will be liabilities or rarely need to play. There are many such trundler in Ranji like Sandy Sharma Vinay koomer sid kaul etc.

Starc's primary weapon is new ball swing. SO they have one already.

Few better sight than Umesh demolishing stumps.

But in swinging conditions he was a cannon fodder. Stuart binny totally outbowled him with 6 for 4.

You gotta have atleast one. Seam movement is not going to be there everywhere. Ishant was our swing bowler who could also hold end. Aquib nabi both swing and seam.

Have to see more of Nabi beyond those awful domestic pitches.  He can swing alright but I am still not convinced with the seam part.

Mukesh was called Shami clone and he wasn't remotely close.

Akashdeep can be excellent seam exponent when fully fit.

Older ball skill is an issue with young Indian Pacers coz they don't get that challenge in domestic cricket

Having a no.8 batsman gives you an advatnage. Ball might be older, bowlers may be tired. You need someone to take advantage of it. We bloody lost 6 for 41 & 7 for 59 in the same test against England

Umesh has to be finest subcontinent styled bowler ever.  No one is close.  That guy was born to bowl in India and SC

i never rated Mukesh, Kamboj.. Straight up and down bowlers with no real skill. This guy might fail as well.  But he has some attributes that might work. You cannot fluke your way for two Ranji seasons above everyone else. Also prized out wickets like Kela, Smaran, Mayank on a road wicket in the final.  Him not getting even chance with A team is quizzical.  If the other choices fail and if they go back to Nabi when he is around 33 that will not help anyone.

Inglis bowl pace to Shadab you moron..

It is an ultra slow wicket. Only Ellis can do something. But from what i heard ball is turning massively

He had conditions in his favor. very scratchy from Stokes. leaked a lot of runs to Philips with hsi half vollies. Also degree of swing is far less than usual.

This is a clutch innings from Glen PHilips. Remember the cameo from Glen philips against us in Mumbai test? He made 26 in 14 balls. That put the score beyond 100. We couldn't chanse 145.
