Days of Mike Brearley are over, and in this format especially where margins are so thin, need your best 11. SKY got to lead his side to a WC win (joining stalwarts like Kapil, MSD, Rohit), and Asia Cup also. BCCI supported him well enough, nobody would have blamed the board had they gone in with a different captain for the home WC. Many Indian players have been wronged, SKY isn't one of them. Got to play a home ODI WC as wel, and a BGT test ahead of Ranji performers. He should be happy with his career. rollingstoned and BacktoCricaddict 2
vvvslaxman Posted June 28 Posted June 28 wow.. Women make more direct hits than men. How do they miss stumps with 3 stumps to aim at. BacktoCricaddict 1
vvvslaxman Posted June 28 Posted June 28 Another dropped catch.. Never ever mock women cricketers anymore for catching lol

Literally was in the team of the tournament in the 2024 ICC world cup and single handedly won the 1st match against usa (which would have been a terrible disaster for the 2026 campaign). His captaincy more than makes up for his batting. You guys will see that in the coming days. Big slump in internationals post 24 WC. You carry on with your MI bias, I have no time for that.

vvvslaxman Posted June 28 Posted June 28 It seems Iyer doesn't like spinners. Even with Punjab he severely under used Chahal. This is 5th seamer in action

He gave up his batting position to tilak verma, got samson in the right time in the wc and countless other important acts of captaincy. Your blindness is obvious.

You are not wrong but I still miss him, has the same calm presence as Rahane in tests and some captains have luck like Dhoni and he also had it. Gollum 1

That is what probably also sealed it for them. He will be axed if he fails to deliver. He isn't a superstar or long term project for BCCI/sponsors like Gill, Vaibhav. Too much overreaction with such a small sample size. T20 is one format which BCCI has figured out. rollingstoned 1

Yea but unless team goes through disastrous form or dressing room atmosphere become poisonous they won't change captains. Just my gut feel.

No Did he warrant a place as specialist batsman in our side? No Is he still in his prime? No Is he washed and too old for 2028 campaigns? Resounding yes.
